Very good affordable receiver/HDMI hub.
Great budget receiver. Puts out good sound for a home threatre and has plenty of hdmi ports. We run everything through the receiver then on a single hdmi to our projector, and speaker wires to our 5.0 surround sound setup. Even with 8" speakers our bass is lacking without a subwoofer, so eventually we'll go 5.1. Bluetooth and am/fm work great without a monitor on. Reception on the radio is relatively good, even in the basement. Wish it had 1 set of AV inputs for our old DVD player. But it does have a USB power output, which can power an AV to HDMI converter. Remote works well, even around corners, but unfortunately not through the door of our component closet. I wish the remote receiver had a wired extension.

Very good value for low price.
I bought this as low-priced receiver to drive quality bookshelf drive speakers in my patio with large TV. I didn't want to spend a lot of money as it is installed in open air patio (covered). Not sure how long it would last in high humidity. After install, I was impressed with sound quality and user interface. I also appreciated easy audio filter adjustment to make voices clearer while watching movies. It works so well, that I bought a second one for my family room. It is not a super high-end system for sophisticated audiophiles. But it works very well for me. Very happy with it so far.

Denon Disappointed, Onkyo Did Not!
I have a great speaker from Denon and ended up checking on their website which had a few specials - one on a refurbished receiver. I thought, well, I like their speaker and the receiver is a good price...so I ordered it. When I received it, it worked for a little less than THREE HOURS before is simply refused to turn on. Returned it and started looking for a receiver that was similarly placed and this Onkyo was my choice. I got it set up in no time and after setting up the surround sound speakers to work with it, I turned on the TV and it has been working like a champ since. Sounds great, easy to set up and is exactly what I wanted. I may not be able to afford a hugely expensive home theater system, but for my price point, this receiver is an excellent choice. I paired it with a Klipsch surround sound set of speakers. Together they make it a pleasure to watch a movie, especially a musical!

For the price it's a solid buy
The AVR is perfect for my moderate HT. I'm running 5.2 and have a separate amp powering two subs. It was simple to set up and simple to use. I have 4 inputs HDMI a BD player, Roku, OTA TV tuner and a laptop computer. All feeding a Solid State LED projector 120" screen. switching between inputs is quick and works great. Sound quality is great and the included mic made setup simple. Only negative is for a couple dollars more they could have put binder connections for all 5 speakers the rears and center have a fairly small wire gauge pressure connection. My wires fit but were a tight fit. Other than that I would have gave it 5 stars.

Grossly Underpowered
First time in 40 years I haven't been happy with an Onkyo product. After 20 years in my dusty 1000 sq ft workshop, my Pioneer receiver failed. Looking for an inexpensive replacement, I zeroed in on the Onkyo because I believed I would be getting "good bank for the buck". Boy, was I wrong. Here are just a few of the major disappointments: 1. I knew I was in trouble [power-wise] when the speaker connections were too small to take the wire connecting my 6 ohm surround sound speakers; not sure, but I don't think the new terminals can take anything much larger than 20 ga speaker wire. 2. There's no manual 3. The "Quick Start" insert sheet is filled with incorrect and ambiguous information, especially at steps #4 and #5; you're mostly on your own and must have good trouble-shooting skills. 4. You cannot set this thing up off-line and then move it into position; it must be connected to a TV. 5. To get any volume, I had to crank it to "75" ... let's say that 75% of the power ... and then I measured the volume at -6db below what the Pioneer was delivering at 30% power! 6. At the "75", I got ~ 0% output from my powered sub-woofer. I think that's enough "fair warning". I can't recommend this unit to anyone, even if all you have is a 5.0 system in a 10x10" bathroom. I will be returning the unit and the search will be on for actual "replacement" ... first I have to find the specs on the older unit.

Awesome receiver!
Awesome receiver for an affordable price! I bought this for my home entertainment system and to play music from my iPhone. It easily powers my high power speakers and the Bluetooth connection with my phone is strong and stable.

Very happy with this system
We have a small parlor, and this amp provides ample power for our needs. When connected to an OEL TV and AppleTV, it creates a wonderful experience. The 5.2 Atmos, Dolby, and DTS functions are impressive. We are very pleased with this amp.

I really like this brand. my previous amp was the same brand and was also great. But it lacked HDMI inputs and was about 11 years old. This new unit is much smaller lighter and fits much better in my TV stand. The sound quality is second to none. although i find it is not as powerful as my old amp it provides enough power that your not disappointed. Set up was easy and with the mic plugged in you really get the very best optimized sound you can possibly get. just make sure when you do the set up to follow the instructions. place the mic in the middle of your room at ear level. make sure the mic won't move while its doing the setup. even the smallest movement of the mic will distort the readings and mess it all up. also make sure the room is dead silent. this mic is very very sensitive. and any outside sound will get factored into the calibration of your system. resulting in a poor experance.
