If I drop the Klein, the tail cap falls off and the batteries fly out. I don't have that issue with the Fluke. Also the power button works better, my Klein's button is too sensitive. Also the Fluke I have (the 1AC model) will detect voltage in most tamper resistant receptacles without having to open the shutter, where my Klein will not (some user reported the Fluke is not sensitive but relatively my experience is the opposite). Finally, the Klein and the Southwire are made in China (although the Southwire at least has a LED flashlight built in). The Fluke is not made in China so it is easily worth twice the price to me. You can check out the Fluke and Southwire models at Lowes (and purchase there if you like one or the other). The Klein is often on sale at HD but I really recommend against it compared to the other two. **Q: What does this one do better than a non-contact tester at 1/3 of the price?** A: As a tradesman who has repaired circuits on heavy machinery, in heavy industrial factories, commercial installations, and who has done so since Bill Clinton was the President, I can say without doubt that the vast amount of electrical professionals trust their lives to Fluke (not the Fruke - fake Fluke - that can be found on eBay for example at half of the Fluke price). I have used a Greenlee tester in the past but every time it was dropped from height higher than waist height the cap would pop off and the batteries would shoot out. The Fluke is more robustly constructed for those who use tools 60-70 hours a week. Buy once, cry once applies to voltage testers and safety gear that you trust your life to. **Q: Which version do i need to check 1) u.s. household sockets 2) wires to u.s. standard light switches on walls? thanks!** A: You'd want the 90-1000v version of this tester for these, as they are 110/120v, and if you ever wanted to test a dryer/water heater/cook stove, etc it would also work as they are 220/240v. **Q: Which voltage range is best for home use?
