Excellent 12x50 binoculars
Very happy with this pair of Vortex Crossfire 12x50. Used them at the Cape Hatteras seashore and they were great for long distance clarity, and short distance bird watching. It took practice learning how to hold the pair steady, but no real issues. The tripod adapter, well haven't figured out how to use it yet. No opinion yet about the pair's waterproof or fog proof ability yet. Will update.

Excellent optics and hi-quality material binocular for the money and birds watching.
Compare this to my Aculon A211 10-22x50: Pros: - material and finish are hi-quality and don't feel cheap like the Aculon. - soft (silicon / quality rubber) objectives and lens cap vs cheap hard plastic for the Aculon. - lenses clarity is a bit clearer, imo. - compact for portability, less bulkier than the Aculon - very short focus distance, 6ft vs 49 ft Aculon. - come with a convenient, quality and easy front carrying pouch harness for quick deployment. - from a price point, personally, very hard to beat with all the pros. - excellent customer service, imo. I manage to lost the objective lenses cap. Call the company, reach a real person and they send me a replacement free of charge. The issue is resolved within 5 minutes. Wow! Since I have this, my Aculon is collecting dust. Definitely will only buy Vortex going forward. Updated: Call to inquire about a lost objectives cap on 1/6/2022, received an entire set i.e. objectives and lenses cap, free of charge, today 1/7/2022. Very impressive! On the side note, the replacement objectives cap seems a bit more rigid, tighter fit and looks a bit different than the original one. Contacted CS (very friendly and cheerful by the way) again and has been confirmed it's the correct cap which will stretch and loosen up overtime.

Great binoculars for the price, but be wary if you have close-set eyes
Great binoculars. First good pair I've owned, but I dont see how they could be better for viewing at the distance they do, which is about as far as I'd want without having a tripod or something. Materials seem good quality. Image is crystal. The case and sling and protectors are good. I do caution those with close-set eyes, though. Mine are nearly that, having about the exact width of one of my eyes between the two, and I just barely get the image right when the biboculars are pushed together as far as they go. If my eyes were aby closer together, they probably woyldnt ve the roggt set for me. So caution if you have close-set eyes. All thibgs considered they seem top value for the price.

These binoculars are a must for the beach to watch dolphins and for birdwatching
These binoculars were very well. I like that they’re easy to grip and fit in our beach bag. They are portable and we use them at the beach for watching dolphins and sharks and in the backyard birdwatching. They provide a large field of view. I like the color of these binoculars and they come in a nice travel bag also.

Good but not perfect
Bought the 12X50 version. I think the clarity and crisp focus of these is pretty awesome. Using at the range, at 100yrds I can see shot holes on paper very clearly. But there are a few cons. The minimum Interpupillary Distance is pretty big (60) because of the large lenses. Meaning if your eyes are closer together than average you won't be able to use these very well (or at all). Also, the large lens caps have unnecessary tabs on them the pop the caps off when pulling them out of the case. So I trimmed them off with a pair of scissors and that fixed the problem. The case itself is slightly too short to accommodate the big 12x50s, but it does work (you have to twist the eyecups down each time you put them in the case). The case straps are kind of a hot mess. I don't use them. I just attached the neck strap and leave it hanging out of the case. So overall, a nice pair of binoculars that could use some improvements.

Nice for full daylight and low light viewing. Visual aberrations only at night with bright sources
These binoculars really blew me away with the visual quality compared to the price. Get 'em. I had a small set of 8x25s from EMS that were OK, but were so old the rubber was getting tacky. I also have a pair of Celestron 15x70's that are decent, but are heavy to hand hold. I like good optics (I spend on my scope) but I didn't want to spend more than $100 just yet. At $139, I went over budget but I'm glad I did. During the daytime in the backyard, the color and edges are crystal clear from edge to edge. The depth of field is short, so you do have to focus quite a bit when moving around but it's pretty quick once you get it. But even looking at birds and trees 100's of feet away, there is good detail and light. Looking at birds less than 20 feet reveals a great deal of detail. The binoculars are light and are easy to hold. Be sure to focus the diopter first, however, to get the best view. I also do astronomy and I didn't expect much from these binos, but I was impressed none the less. Looking south where the Milkyway is from a fairly light polluted area, the binos revealed a nice, crisp starfield in the lenses. The stars were pinpoint and clear. I saw a bit of shadowing from the Milkyway, too. The only problem, and I didn't nick a star, was that very bright objects like planets showed aberrations in the lenses. Both Jupiter and Saturn are in the sky and they are very bright. When I pointed the binos at them there were spikes from the planets. I didn't expect to see any detail, of course, but the spikes were disappointing. I did, however, catch a few of Jupiter's moons, which is cool. In fact, looking at our own Moon was a delight. Good detail and contrast. The binos were light enough that I could stand for a while taking it in.

High quality, great optics
These binoculars replace a set of 80's vintage 10x40, which were good quality for the time. The quality is outstanding, and the optics are the best I've ever seen in a binocular. You can't go wrong with Vortex. But, be mindful of what your mission is. I bought them to view distant objects, mostly stationary. If you're doing close in bird watching, you might want to opt for 10x42 or even 7x. The price you pay for higher magnification is field of view and image stability - that's not a shortcoming of the binoculars, just physics. Any decent quality modern binoculars these days are going to use roof prisms (vs. Porro prisms) resulting in a more narrow and more compact set for their power. They are small enough and light enough to toss in a day pack without taking up too much space. They come with a well padded soft case, which comes with a rather goofy harness setup allowing you to wear it as a front pack. But, it also ships with a conventional neck strap which you can use alternatively, so it's no big deal. Attaching the neck straps (or the harness adapters) is a little bit challenging, and is a bit of a brain puzzle, but there are Youtube videos on it which detail the way to do it. It's something that you only need to do once, so that isn't a big deal either. As far as ease of use, it has some nice eye cups that you can rotate in or out depending on whether you need to use eyeglasses with them. Focus is easy, requiring minimal adjustment between close in and infinity focus.

Stunning price/performance for a truly all-purpose binocular
I just purchased the Vortex Crossfire HD 12x50 binoculars and have been putting them through their paces for a week, and had a few important thoughts to share. Firstly, I was looking for a true all-purpose binocular which was small/light enough to do birding in the day/dusk hours, plus do better than average duty as an astronomy binocular which could be either hand held or tripod mounted. I have many binoculars which excel at either of these tasks, but none really do both exceptionally well - until now. The price/performance on these Crossfires is simply amazing - I have spent MUCH more on binoculars and not seen the combination of sharp center of focus, awesome light collection in a light, and manageable form factor. The center field sharpness of the Crossfires is the best I've seen under $200 - and the 12x magnification takes advantage of this for easy marking identification on birds and wildlife. And the 50mm objectives keeps this identification available far later into twilight than any other handheld binocular I own. These are remarkably light and hand-holdable for 50mm bins - they weigh in at only 29.5 oz, and are extremely well balanced, with a firm, yet tacky rubberized body - with proper technique, these are easily as hand-holdable as my 10x42's. *** ALSO *** these close focus down to 6 feet! Yes, I said SIX feet. 12x combined with 6 ft close focus makes these perhaps the most powerful butterfly/insect binoculars ever made! Another plus - these are simply the best looking binoculars I've ever seen - something about the smooth curves and materials transitions from front to back make people ask about them all the time. All materials and mechanicals (focuser, diopter, body) are very high quality with near-perfect resistance to the touch. They are fully multi coated optics, including phase correction coatings, and waterproof/fogproof and O-ring sealed. For Astronomy, these shine even more, and simply outclass any 7x50 or 10x50 I've ever used. The standard tripod mount works perfectly, and on the stand, the Crossfires can star split better than any binocular I own. They are even better with easy reach star clusters, like M7 and M44, which sparkle with life here and demonstrate the joy of binocular astronomy. And to think these are roof prisms (not normally associated with astronomy capability) is even more astonishing - the optics and build quality are to be commended. They even throw in a full-blown binocular harness AND a neck strap - incredible value included at no extra cost. Summary: Low cost, very high quality, good looking, wide array of functionality, terrific, usable optics, best value in binoculars available today. And I haven't even mentioned the Vortex VIP unlimited warranty - how these guys pack so much quality and value into such a low price is kind of crazy - but you'd be crazy NOT to check these out! Highest recommendation.

Top Preis/Leistung. 👍🏻

EXCELENTE!!!
SIEMPRE HE QUERIDO COMPRARME UNOS BINOCULARES Y AHORA QUE ENCONTRÉ DESCUENTO, LO HICE. ESTAMOS ENCANTADOS CON ESTE EQUIPO, HEMOS ESTADO OBSERVANDO AVES EN LAS MAÑANAS, PODEMOS VER A DETALLE CADA UNA. PRONTO NOS IREMOS AL ESTADO DE CHIAPAS DONDE ESTOY SEGURO QUE LO DISFRUTAREMOS MUCHO, HE USADO OTROS BINOCULARES DE OTROS AMIGOS PERO ESTOS ESTÁN MUY BIEN. ME FALTA PROBARLOS EN CONDICIONES DE CAMPO ABIERTO, POLVO, LLUVIA Y NIEBLA, CONFÍO QUE CUMPLIRÁN SU FUNCION. ESTAMOS ENCANTADOS PUES SE AJUSTÓ MUY BIEN AL ANCHO DE MIS OJOS.
