I would recommend an air-tight glass jar with a metal lid. This type of container will prevent the product from developing an off-taste due to freezer storage. And every time there is need to use the product, just take it out of the freezer 1 hour before use, to allow the product to reach the temperature before you open the jar. Doing so, will prevent any significant moisture from being introduced into the product when you open the jar. That is my 2 cents, and my own general experience in the kitchen has shown me that this should work well for you. Give it a try if you like.
