It is unlikely a young person who is used to digital everything will be able to properly operate this clock. I have seen 2 complaining in the reviews so far. I grew up with wind up alarm clocks. If it is set correctly and wound correctly , there is no problem. We used to be able to call a number for the correct time and set our clocks by it. Ask an older person how to work this clock properly. I wish it were a little bigger. I also wish the USA still made Big Ben wind up clocks or any other brand.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! It is NOT as advertised. Its ringer is not very loud and only wrings for a few seconds. It is advertised as waking up the heaviest sleeper, no it will not! Wind dials are VERY small an hurt my fingers to wind it, do you want to hurt your fingers every day? I am sending it back and demanding a refund. The company that makes this should be ashamed of this product!!! Also, it has NO am/pm feature. It only works on one 24-hour cycle. Sometimes I work a lot of overtime. I might be asleep by 4pm and want my alarm to wake me up at 5am. You set this alarm at4 pm at night for 5:00am its going to go off at 5pm one hour later. It needs and am/pm function. This clock does not have that. It's as cheap as a 25-cent item you will get out of a restaurant "claw machine". DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved this little thing at first, used it to replace another alarm clock with a broken ringer. Ordered it on Feb 6, got it on Feb 10, and it broke on Feb 14-15. It still keeps time, but the reason I got it was for it to do its job, which it cannot do anymore. This clock's ringer now has far too frequent jams (making it NOT ring), and when it DOES ring, the ringer only makes contact with one bell, despite having two. I need a loud alarm clock to wake me up. I'm a heavy sleeper and I work a night shift. Having such a poor running alarm clock is unacceptable.

I accidentally left my phone at work, was NOT driving back for it, so I finally realized I needed a wind-up alarm clock at home. They are all I ever used growing up, before smart phones. I used to have a Big Ben, but my first son destroyed it by winding it too tightly when he was a toddler. Anyway, I overnighted this little baby was surprised at how small it is. Yes, very cute, I just didn't pay much attention when I was ordering, was just looking at the cheapest options. I know these are not crystal quartz accuracy, but the pure mechanical functionality is charming. You CAN adjust how fast or slow it is. Mine came with that slider not quite 1 tick away from the slowest setting. I didn't touch the slider for the first night, to see what adjustments I might need to make. After 12 hours, it was dead on. I had set the alarm for 5AM, and it went off at 4:58. That is fine by me. You could probably get more accuracy with something larger, but for the price here, you cannot go wrong.

The directions are ok, but not great. Thankfully there are arrows on the back, indicating the direction to wind. (Counterclockwise) On The left is the alarm winder & setting knobs. On the right is the clock winder & time setting knobs. I’d read a review about larger fingers having difficulty. I can see that could be an issue. The winding & time setting knobs are pretty close to each other. I have thinner/average fingers and my fingers brush against the time set knob while winding the clock. It doesn’t prevent me from winding, but for someone with larger fingers, I can see that it could be a problem. The time setting knob is stiff enough to not turn easily, so it doesn’t appear to affect that, by bumping while winding the clock. I’ve had this a few days now. After the initial wind & time setting, I now wind each morning & then again before bed. It doesn’t keep good time and would not be a reliable clock for that. The first couple of days it lost 5-7 min. This morning it had already lost 3 min from overnight. If I keep up with correcting the time, it should still work fine as an alarm clock. 3-5 min off doesn’t hurt my ability to get ready in the morning. It does have a nice ticking sound. It doesn’t bother me since I like white noise or constant types of noise to sleep by. But if you have to have it very quiet to sleep, you may need to not use a wind up clock. The luminescence on the numbers & hands is small and even though I have it in front of the window & it’s been mostly sunny the last couple days, I really can’t see anything in the dark, so I wouldn’t count on being able to see the time in the dark. I haven’t experimented with shining lights on it though, so I don’t know if that would help, like it does with some mechanical watches. Overall this is a decent clock, and had the most, best ratings I could find on here. When I was in jr high, my dad gave me an alarm clock like this to get myself up for school. It kept great time. I had it for years, and I wish they still made that quality. Likely, that old, reliable clock was made in the USA. Now if only someone in the USA would start these up again.

this thing will wake you up all right and only lost a couple minutes a day. Even started waking up 2 minutes before it goes off out of fear. however, after a couple weeks it stopped ticking and only continued if you tap it on the table. took it apart and oiled it but it still doesn't work. it also only ran for like 10 hours on a wind. maybe I was unlucky but products shouldn't be luck based.

Well it's a bit smaller than I thought it would be. Other than that it is well made and easy to wind and operate. Just make sure you wind it each night. The alarm is pretty loud and lasts for about 25 seconds at full alarm wind. It does tick. I dont mind that though....would Def buy again. You cant find a good alarm clock anymore that doesn't rely on a battery.

This little clock is so cute and is exactly what I wanted--if I could set the time. It winds up just fine, ticks almost silently for a mechanical clock, and the stem thing for setting the alarm works okay. But the stem that's supposed to set the hour/minute hands must be jammed. I wonder if someone tried to force the hands in the wrong direction and jammed it and then returned it. No, I did NOT try to turn them the wrong direction. I tried to turn the stem thing exactly in the direction of the arrow and it will not budge so is impossible to set. So I guess I will have to return it. Very disappointed because I wanted to use it right away.

El reloj es muy bonito, funciona muy bien. Hace tick-tack y eso es lo que más me gusta. La cuerda le dura poco más de 24 hr así que si le das cuerda todos los días a la misma hora no tienes problema.

It is very much like the old fashioned clocks. Very small in size, big ringer though.

Do not buy this It online. Its key moving mechanism store energy for less than a day if it used as alarm and Ring volume is also not enough to wake you up. If you can find vintage which hold large mechanical clock than go for that. But this product is useless.

Love this little clock, ok it ticks, most people these days do not like ticking clocks, I do. It cleanses the air stops unwanted energy coming into your home, it extracts not attracts. You soon tune into it normal rhythms. I love it
