Great Grab and Go Camera
The Canon PowerShot ELPH 350 HS is a very nice pocket camera. I am an amateur photographer. I typically use a Nikon DSLR. I was going on a trip to Manhattan and space was an issue. I wanted to take a camera, but not my DSLR. After reading many reviews by photographers, I settled on the 350 HS. It is a solid camera with same build quality found in previous models and that of other pocket cameras. It performed fair in moderate light. It captured great shots when in good light. The optical zoom is in my opinion its best feature. While the camera does have wifi and will sync to Canon's app, I found this feature to be useless. I was using the iOS version of the Cannon app and its garbage. Hardly ever would the camera sync to app. If a feature isn't consistent its not a feature. I stuck to pulling the SD card out and importing my photos the traditional way. I'm not taking the camera review score down as I feel the app was the cause of pain and therefore I rate the app poorly. The camera I like. The included Canon battery life was limited in my opinion and I found that was the biggest complaint of others reviewing this camera. Knowing this prior to my trip I took spare third party batteries from Vivitar which had extra capacity and worked great (see other review). For the price category of this camera it does a great job with photos in most normal situations. It's a good starter camera or backup when you need a grab and go option.

Love the camera! Had it over a year now, Durable, Great Pictures & Video, Still Love it!
Love the camera but it has way more settings then I thought it would have. Although this is probably a great factor for some people, I was actually just looking for something that was very simple. Takes fairly well pictures in regular "AUTO" mode except at night. On "AUTO", a night flash goes off or don't go off, always at the wrong time. Picture's aren't that great in AUTO, their lacking color & they seem pretty drab to say the least. Im Low light, the AUTO settings take very grainy pictures! There is a setting called "Vivid" which really brings out the color in the pictures fairly well. As far as the manual settings, these are mostly all available except the aperture setting. Film Speed, various shutter settings, etc. . (about 5-6 setting each. All in all, it's probably a nice camera, Im just going to have to perhaps get used to it abit more. I replaced an old Samsung camera but it's disappointing that this camera in 4-5 times more expensive yet lacks the great pictures the cheap old Samsung gets-

Great Pictures
Bought this camera to replace a Canon camera I had for 10 years that I have somehow lost. Loved the original Canon digital camera so when I saw this one at a great price on Amazon, I purchased it. The camera is easy to take pictures with by just reading the instructions in the owner's manual. I took over 500 pix on my European trip and edited them down to 438 using the camera's large screen. I had the pictures developed at my local Walgreen's and they are over-the-top gorgeous. The photos of Versailles are so detailed and the color so true that that they capture all the opulence of the rooms of the palace. One cannot use a flash in many of the cathedrals and other buildings and even those photos came out beautifully. The zoom is a 12X and really worked well showing up-close architectural details of the buildings. I wanted to load these photos onto my laptop but was not successful. I even emailed the Canon help sight and got an answer right away but I still was not successful. It is user error combined with a lack of clear detail in the owner's manual. Would buy this one again for sure! not give this camera a 5 star rating. I am sure it is user error and my son-in-law can do it for me.

Disappointed
Camera felt flimsy/cheap - I felt like I was going to break the battery/SD card door off when I would open it. The camera is lightweight which I liked, but I think that contributed to the cheap feel. Battery lasted less than 1 day and images in lower light (shade or indoors with and without using flash) were grainy when compared to my 7 year old Canon SD790. The grainy photos is something I read another user also experienced. After 1 day, I started noticing stuck pixels on the screen that were not there before. Before returning the camera, 7 stuck pixels had cropped up on the screen... all in the first 36 hours of having the camera. Stuck pixels happen, but when you go from 0 to 7 in less than 36 hours - that's not good.

Hoped to like this great camera, but disappointed with Canon...
This is not a full review as I didn't get to use this camera for a longer time and returned this camera back to Amazon. I am an amateur photographer, mainly taking phots for events/concerts and some personal photos and have a Canon EOS 7D with a host of SLR lenses. So this was meant only as a second camera for quick trips, for lightweight, pocketable carrying ease. My biggest issues with this camera, in order: 1. Photos and videos can be transferred only in 2 methods: - WiFi (to smartphones or laptop) - take out the SD card, put that in a laptop and copy the files over And usually if you do take out and put back SD cards frequently enough, the flimsy plastic cover is going to give out quickly. The older generation cameras used to have a simple micro USB so you can connect with a laptop, that used to be so good/easy. EOS 7D does have such feature and so do Sony cameras (HXVxxx series as well as the WCD). And worse, I need the Canon software to get these photos??? It will be nice to have some additional features in Canon software for some advanced photo editing, may be. But with Picasa/google photos/Adobe photoshop elements/lightroom etc that most tech savvy customers have, or the built-in photo tools of Windows and MACs for the not-so-particular-about-photos people who just want quick snaps, Canon software is a overkill and redundant. 2. Separate battery charger equipment, is a pain again. While the camera is quite pocketable, you need to carry around the charger etc if you are travelling, or pre-charge and carry a couple of extra spare batteries???? Switching to simple AAA rechargeable batteries would have been great. 3. While it is quite cheap, the quality can be a little better for the photos. (It is quite good, just that I expect more from Canon!). On the plus side, for the price, it is a great camera, does take pictures very quickly, does face identification quite well. I would have loved this camera, if not for the first 2 negatives I wrote above. I would have given 6 stars if those issues were not there.

he is learning quickly how to take great pictures & enjoy photography
I bought this camera for my 3 year old. While it does require supervision at this age, he is learning quickly how to take great pictures & enjoy photography. The camera takes much better pictures than the toy cameras I researched. Setting up the camera so it would wirelessly transfer pictures to my PC required a call to Customer Service. They helped me out in short order. I like it because it has few buttons & many automatic features. I expect that in short order he will master the camera & be able to enjoy it for many years.

FANTASTIC LITTLE CAMERA
What a nice little camera and takes lovely photos. Nice and small to carry in pocket or purse. Love the rechargeable battery with it so do not have to carry a bunch of 3 A's with you. Very easy to program for downloading photos and Canon had a wonderful support system in place to help you with any problems you may have. Just love it!!!

Awesome Camera/Great price too
I love this camera. It produces high quality pictures and videos and I really like the idea you can send photos/videos from the camera rather than having to download onto your computer then send it off. I have had this camera for a few months now and the photos are awesome.
