If you want to ruin your trunk and bike, this is the perfect bike rack for you!
This is especially true if the bike is a female bike. They said it would be so easy to assemble and that women's bikes could easily fit, too. Well, if you want to need to learn Scout-level knots (and use yards and yards of rope in futile attempts to keep your bike safe/not hitting the ground), get your trunk scratched up to the point that you have no paint left in certain spots, and have your bike drag on the ground and have your tire get punctured and your wheel deformed, this is the bike rack you should buy. I'm usually not this upset about a product not being good, but it cost more than $120 in damage, and if I ever were to try to fix the paint, it would be a lot more. My bike is important to me, and I trusted this product to move my bike effectively and safely. I also received no response from customer service over two weeks ago when I complained to them first. I'm not bothering to use it again. I want my money back, their description of it to be more honest - especially in regards to female bikes, and for them to make the product respectable.

Poor Quality
I bought this bike rack because I bought a similar one ages ago and it worked well, especially on long drives. It’s usually easy to install on the trunk of a car. I bought this in May and I didn’t buy a bike until July 26 when I finally used the rack. It worked well. On July 30 I drove 6 hours through 100 degree weather. I did that with my previous Allen bike rack and jt was fine. It wasn’t until I was almost home when I went over 2 speed bumps. I went over the first speed bump and I noticed my bike move a weird way. I went over the second speed bump and I saw my bike fall off my car. I immediately pull over and check what happened. The hooks were no longer able to hook on the trunk of my car. Luckily, there was a gardener nearby who let me use his hammer. I hammered the hooks so they can be bent to hook onto the car. The rack was able to work until I arrived home. The metal seems to be weak especially during hot weather. I don’t know how I’m suppose to use this in Los Angeles when it gets hot here.

For what it does at it's price point its very good
Reduced to one star!!! Despite tightening these things as much as I can a pothole caused enough a bump to lose my bike so returned now I'm after the company to compensate me for parts that need replacing or adjusting. Con is the two chrome steel braces you need to slot it warns you about pinching your fingers. I warn you it's difficult and you will pinch your fingers, PERIOD! It goes and adjusts easily enough takes about 3 minutes to setup and less to take off. The four bike frame couplers do not fit well anything a bit other than perfectly round(Trek Marlin 5 Gen2 squarish frame bar). Might be nice to add an accessory to change them out to something larger. The straps are so long not sure what was the limit of trunk space they sized this for. The extra length on the bottom one at least can double in securing the front tire in line with the frame so the handlebars don't flop. Seems to hold very well on backroads as well as highway speeds up to 65 MPH although I admit I have not taken it further than an hour with a bike attached. One suggestion rubber coat the trunk hooks with a thing rubber coating. Finally it the two top hooks actually flex the metal near the rear window where they hook not so sure if it's such a good idea to stack another 3 pounds or so with a bike at the second position where it can exert the most stress on those two top straps. without damaging the car.

Broke after 7 months :(
I purchased this rack roughly 7 months ago and use it probably twice a month. It was easy to install and I fit 2 bikes well on my 2019 Hyundai Accent. However, I can only give 1 star because it broke recently. After hitting a pothole (thanks, New Orleans), I guess the weight of the 2 bikes bouncing bent one of the arms and now the locking pin won't stay in place, which is rather unfortunate as I really liked the rack prior to this.

Brazenly unsafe, but I guess you get what you pay for.
Brazenly unsafe, but I guess you get what you pay for. Paid ~$35 during the Prime Day sale and set up the bike rack a few days later when I received it. The hooks attached to the car as expected and could be very securely tightened. I have no issue with the way the rack attaches to the car itself, that's secure for the most part. My issue lies with the rack's flimsy fabric and plastic buckle tighteners (think adjustable backpack straps) that are supposed to hold onto a 30lb bike. I was driving at conservative speeds on a road that is no more bumpy than average when one of the two fasteners came undone and the bike slid off. Luckily I had tied the wheel in place with excess strap and the other fastener held on, but it would be incredibly negligent of me to try and use this thing again. My bike sustained minimal damage, but my trunk's paint is pretty torn up. I imagine the Amazon return will be process without issue but I'm more than likely out the cost of having that buffed out. For now I guess I'll suck it up and disassemble the bike before shoving it in the trunk - probably less of a headache than dealing with insurance after the bike flies off the rack and hits somebody.

Not for Women's Bikes
First of all the assembly instructions. You have to have the strength of several very strong people to get the pins at the ends of the wire struts into the holes in top of the foot assembly. As it is we forced it and worried about breaking them. There's a video and the woman in the video gets it on with ease. Ha, ha. Secondly if you are a woman, make sure you order the 900B Adapter Bar with the rack. I just bought the rack and the written instructions for women's bikes are vague and ambiguous. Of course, the instructions for a men's bike are clear, concise, and illustrated. I went on YouTube to find clearer instructions and the recommendation is to get the adapter bar so you can make your woman's bike like a man's. Very, very disappointing as the adapter bar is out of stock and I'll have to wait a month to get one. So, on the whole, I guess this is a good bike rack, but I'll have to wait another month for the adapter bar to find out. I'm guessing they're out of stock because a lot of other women found out that this rack is impossible for their bikes.

E-bike owners BEWARE! Don't use this product.
I purchased this Allen Sports 2-bike rack to carry my new e-bike on my Subaru SUV. It went on easily and carried the bike securely. All was well... until it wasn't anymore. On a short 4-mile trip the bike rack cut a deep scratch and gouge in the bike frame. See photo. The cause was one of the soft, thin rubber caps on the metal tube ends was punctured by the tube, resulting in metal-to-metal contact with the frame. Sanding and repainting the bike frame is now necessary. I politely explained the situation to Allen Sports and asked if they could provide heavier rubber caps so the carrier could be used again. They said, "No, we don't have other caps". Given that I did not want to risk further damage to my bike, I asked if I could return the rack for a refund within 30 days of purchase. Answer: "No. Your bike weighs more than 35 lbs., and capacity is limited to 35 lbs. per bike even if only one bike is carried". Note that the stated carrying capacity of the rack is 70 lbs. I pointed out that nowhere in the Amazon ad posting or the product specifications did it mention 35 lbs. per bike. After much back and forth Allen Sports refused to offer a product return and refund. Instead, they suggested I contact Amazon, which I did. Luckily, Amazon customer service immediately stood behind the sale and offered a full refund. So the lesson learned is don't use this rack for heavier e-bikes. Allen won't stand behind it even though they don't mention a 35 lb. per bike limit in their Amazon ad and product specifications. Oh, and Allen's customer service folks could learn a few things from Amazon's.

Broke very easily, scratched trunk and could have damaged bike
Easy to install but broke within 2 months of use, scratched my truck. Went over a normal neighborhood speed bump and the bottom hook bent causing the rest of the mount to jump up and detach from the top of trunk led to me dragging the whole mount and my bike on the floor. Also scratched my trunk.

Great Value, does the job well
Incredible value, really. I was considering having a hitch installed on my car so I can put on a specialized bike rack so my girlfriend and I can take our bikes out. That would have cost me upwards of $700. Instead I got this for under $85 total and didn't need to install any hitch or make any customizations to my car. Product itself is easy to install. Out of the box one step to get it ready for attaching to your trunk requires a bit of strength, but beyond that attaching to your trunk is easy and surprisingly secure. I've since driven it with two bikes at 120 km on the highway and had no issue. Great product, saved me a lot of money. Only downside is that if someone wanted to snatch the whole rack or take your bike(s) off to steal them, it's not that hard. For that reason I always remove the hitch when I take my bikes off.

Perfect!
I don’t usually write review, but this product is exceptional and it works perfectly with my BMW 2024 1 series as you can see. It Just required an inexpensive strap for my own additional safety and simple bungee to stop the front wheel from swinging about and lock it all in place in the frame. The hard rubber mounts fit the frame perfectly. The bracket doesn’t move and it’s solid as a rock! It was embarrassing easy to set up, put two bars into a hole and it’s all ridged, ready to go onto the car. I’m please to say I would Highly recommended this ! Only upgrade I intend to do it change the straps to tension ones but that’s for myself. It was epic to see the compatibility list on the box.
