I had plenty of room for beverages, ice and a few snacks to share. The items stayed cool for the entire time and I was very happy that I made this purchase. It also has side pockets that I was able to carry my 20 oz water bottles in. I found the straps to be very comfortable and easily adjusted. I can imagine that this would be awesome for a parent to carry snacks for the kids in while going out to an amusement park or just outdoors anywhere and keep their hands free.
