This is a very large set with a beautifully handmade chess board and large, ornate chess pieces. It does not come with extra Queens, and although the pieces are not weighted they're made of wood and are large enough to have a pleasant enough weight to them already. To be honest, the price was so reasonable for this set that I really just bought it for the chess board itself. I plan on buying a separate set of pieces that are tournament size and weight with extra Queens. Either way, this is a beautiful set for travel or to play outside with friends. Terrific price! Well made! Nuff said!

I bought this as a gift for my brother who needed a new chess board. He had the same one for years. This was way better than I had expected. The pieces are light but I actually like that. Their absolutely beautiful and so is the board. I’m usually not a fan of the boards that fold in half but my brother has a small one bedroom apartment that doesn’t have a lot of space so it is perfect for him. This was well worth the money and I would recommend this to anyone that wants a chessboard that looks gorgeous but also is good quality.

Beautifully crafted

Terrific size and weight. Ornate without being gawdy. Does not come with a case/cover apart from a cardboard box, which is a bit tacky to carry around. And if it came with extra queens (as all sets should!), it would be a perfect 5 stars. Nonetheless, still very happy.

This chess set was purchased as a gift. The underside of the pieces are covered with felt which allows them to glide across the board. There is a slight smell of varnish to the set and a sand-like roughness to the surface of the pieces. We believe these things are due to the fact that the set is handcrafted. None of this detracts from the fact that this chess set -board and figures- is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I'm glad I bought it. its well worth the cost.

Bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas! I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship! The pieces were just as impressive!! She loved it!

High quality for such a reasonable price. We leave it set up on coffee table because it looks so good. Amazing lifetime gift for my 11 yr old - I know he will treasure it forever. Closes up and stores pieces perfectly for when he does want to move it.

An excellent chess set my wife and I bought for our personal enjoyment. A very attractive wooden chess set with large pieces on a large sturdy board. We feel it was a good buy for the money.

Very nice, displayable chess set. The craftsmanship isn't bad - could be a bit more attention to detail - but overall, given the price, large size of the set, it's more than good enough for both playing and displaying. Love it!
