Tastee Jamaica Cheese 2.2 lbs

This product is not bad at all for something coming in a shelf stable can. It is quite affordable compared to other canned cheeses like Bega or Cougar Gold. Its not like expensive cheese from a cheese shop, buts its pretty good for what it is. Just be aware you get a LOT of cheese. It keeps well in the fridge. I'm pretty impressed.

Excellent quality cheese

This is a good value for the money. It's less spreadable at fridge temperature. Has less of a process cheese taste and more of a cheddar taste. Don't get all snobby on the taste here it's cheese in a can. A very large can. It makes crackers taste better. Does a reasonably good job serving as a self defense device in case of intruders.

Years ago, Kraft made a shelf stable cheese that came in a blue box. It could be found next to the Velveeta at the supermarket. It had a smooth slightly processed cheese taste. I loved it and was so sad when it was discontinued. I've seen a similar Kraft product imported from Australia here at Amazon, but the price is too high for the amount you get. I ordered this Tastee cheese on a whim. While the texture is much firmer than the Kraft cheese and it doesn't melt nearly as well, the flavor is very similar to the cheese that came in the blue box. Add a slice of Tastee, a piece of Genoa salami on a Triscuit and I'm in savory heaven! As other reviewers mentioned, my can came severely dented and was very difficult to open. If the shipper could wrap the can in bubble wrap like they do with glass items, it would probably arrive without dents. If you liked the Kraft cheese in the blue box or Kraft's old English cheese slices that they used to sell many years ago, you may want to try this. It's close enough in flavor to satisfy my cravings for a taste of nostalgia.

We love this cheese. So good with the Jamaican Easter bun every year.

Please refer to the review I provided on the 1.1 lb product. Just a larger size now that I've learned how delicious this product is. This 2.2 lb product allows for more experimentation for designing soups, sauces, dips ect....Then I'll purchase 4-5 of the 4.4 lb size to put back on the shelf. Comes in a metal container with a plastic lid to cover after opening and then requires refrigeration. Keeps well in the fridge after opening. Mine NEVER lasts that long to spoil, not after baking homemade soft pretzels with an accompanying Guinness beer cheese dip. Enjoy

Best cheese every time. A family favourite

The product arrived on time. I was very pleased as I got exactly what I wanted and what was described by the seller. It was nicely wrapped to protect the can from damage. The cost was worth the money as it was clear that it included shipping. If I had ordered it here in Canada, it would have cost the same but I am happy that I supported a local seller. I will definitely purchase again. Thanks for the original taster cheese.

Great product. Tin was a bit beat up but once opened it tasted awesome. Nothing beats this combination for bun and cheese. Note: Do not place in the freezer as it becomes crumbly and loses flavour. It remains pretty fresh in the fridge section😋😋😋👍🏼👍🏼🇯🇲

IT WAS VERY GOOD.

I bought this product in 2025 and there were two expiry dates written on the can. Visible on the bottom of the can, the expiry date read Jan 2026. But after removing the tastee product label, there was another expiry date written beneath the label, stating an expiry date of 2023!!! The cheese itself smelt fine but tasted a bit grainy. Not sure what to make of this. The can itself was also dented on delivery.
