This review after more than 1+ year usage also comparing to local brands and disspells some wrong information and perception as well. Please read carefully. I bought this because I am asthmatic and my 2 year old daughter always has a runny nose at night because of the pollution and humidity in winter in Bangalore. She used to get up at night and cry because of blocked nose. Make her sit upright, apply Vicks, sing lullabys, tell stories, both me and my daughter were not having any decent sleep. This dehumidifier really really helped us a lot. Though my wife was initially angry I spent 30K now she is appreciative that it was money well spent. Wrong Perception of Hot Air: Firstly one needs to understand that a dehumidifier by the way of its working takes in existing air removes moisture out of it and emits warm air. Air becomes warm by the technology of its working and it's true for every dehumidifier of any brand. So one needs to understand that aspect before going for a dehumidifier. In Bangalore where I use it, it's generally cold from the rainy season till the end of winter, that's is roughly from July starting to January ending. During this time humidity goes up reaching to 90+. Since it's already cold, warm air by the dehumidifier doesn't matter so much. During summer we don't need to use it as humidity is low. But in a place like Chennai where it's very hot and humid dehumidifier will make the room further hot. Though it will remove the sticky moisture the room may get uncomfortably hot. This is true for any brand. So for there you should look for other solutions, like an AC with dehumidifier option. Wrong Information of no Humidity Level Control: Some reviews are claiming there is no humidity level control, but that's wrong. We can set the humity level from 40 to 60 in levels of 5, that is we can configure it for 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60. Please note that for humans 40 to 60 is the recommended humidity level by medical science. By default it configured for 55 and it maintains the room at 55 exactly. Verified using another hygrometer. General information: I am not sure why this is not obvious for some people but the room needs to be closed, just like an AC. PROs: Very good HEPA filter, active carbon filter and particle filter are given at no extra cost. HEPA and carbon filter life span is 5 years and replacement is 5K. It's not compulsory to replace them though, parcel filter which can be cleaned is enough for dehumidify option. If you want to use it as air purifier then yes, but it works really good for something given as an add-on. I have a coway air purifier, works almost on par to it. It can also work only as a dehumidifier or airpurifier or both. This is very good. I have seen multiple local Indian brands. They are all Generic models from China stamped with Indian Brand Name. They have empty holes in them for fixing HEPA filter or carbon filter but you have to buy them separately for 5400 Rupees, I enquired about it. In the product page they say it has ability to purify air with HEPA filter but don't mention that they don't provide by default, which I think is intentional misleading. Also when I asked which brand of filter do they provide, of what standard they could not answer. Atlast one guy gave me an honest answer that it's generic Chinese stuff, no specific brand, all are alike and the hole in that dehumidifier can fit any filter you put in it, it's not really sized for any specific filter. For example if you buy a carbon filter for it, if it's a bit large you should cut and fit it. The specific local brand I enquired for a model similar to this in capacity is 28K in price and this is 30K in price. Seemed like a no brainer to me on which to choose. 1. Very good display with all options displayed and very accurate humidity measurements. 2. The display automatically turns off of the lights are turned off. 3. Simple child lock function present with long press of a button. 4. Horizontal and vertical swing options are present. 5. Humidity level is configurable in steps of 5 from 40 to 60. 6. You can set it for continuous drainage attaching a pipe or let it collect in the container. 7. The contrainer has a transparent bar which lets you see how full it it. PIC ATTACHED. 8. Once container is full it will auto cut off. 9. Has mold control, auto timed off, turbo mode and a bunch of other options. 10. It's not made in China. 11. Warranty and Service of Sharp so it's a big relief. Unlike local brands which will ask you to send it back to Uttar Pradesh or somewhere on own expense this is far better. CON: Container capacity is only 4 litres, but enough for the capacity of the dehumidifier and the size of the room it's meant for. Only 2 times it became full at peak winter when humidity reached 98 that too at 5 in the morning. So its all good but a little more would have been good not that it really matters. Please note this dehumidifier model is for a medium size bedroom. If you have a bigger room you will need a bigger capacity dehumidifier and there are models in sharp of bigger capacity. Careful design: Some small areas where extra attention is paid, not normally noticed. There is mesh below the exhaust vent so that even if someone drops something it won't go inside. My kid dropped a nano car, one third the size of a finger in it but the mesh caught it. That's when I realized such a mesh was there. I don't know ifevery dehumidifier has one but this got me pleasently by surprise. For large appliances good brands and models really matter.

Great product. I have been using it in the Mumbai monsoons, and it is very effective. It dehumidifies my room fairly quickly and keeps it that way. It does lead to a slight warming of the room, but in combination with an air conditioner, it is excellent. I would recommend it very strongly to anybody who stays in very high humid environments. It can prevent mold from growing, it can keep your equipment and your stuff that you've stored inside closets and things like that much much more well-preserved, and prevents them from getting musty and things like that. Very good product, feels built to a high quality standard, and the fit and finish is fantastic. It's been doing its job pretty well, and I am quite happy with it.

Sharp representative hasn't visited for installation. Just directly closed the ticket. Even after following up for 2+ weeks no technician has approached for demo/installation. Product is okay but the service support is extremely poor

At this price point, I honestly expected this product to be a smart device that links to Alexa or Google but it does not even have an app to control settings. It’s completely manual and that is not a good thing for such a high cost item. While the product works as promised and it does look aesthetically pleasing, although a little heavy it is a good buy. Is it value for money? Maybe The other downside i see is the amount of noise it generates with its fan, there is quiet mode that can help you relax while you are trying to sleep. It does quiet down when it reaches the humidity level set but then it growls back into action and trust me when I say this, it’s is quite loud. I would say it’s even louder than a window AC blower at times. That apart, it’s still a great product but it needs to be upgraded with smart features and they need to bring in a quiet mode.

Bought this in 2021 and have been using it ever since (April 2026) that talks about the reliability and the durability of the product. It’s an easy to use machine with a very clear display that looks very neat even if kept in open, in all these years I never had any trouble either this as it has helped drying clothes without any spill or any such trouble. Now it need a fix as it’s not turning on and that’s when I realised that I need to write a good review for the product that deserves it. And hopefully I’ll also get to know where to get it fixed now that it has conked off for the first time after serving for a good 5 years. Need to know where to get it serviced in Mumbai suburbs.

It is easy to use and works great! Also, the installation service provided by sharp was so friendly , helpful and informative. The machine is on wheels so it is easy to roll from one location in our apartment to another room. We bought it for a room that was extremely moist and was about to form mold. After 3 days of running the machine, it fully removed the excess moisture and prevented mold from forming. We are 100% pleases with the product and highly recommend it for other households experiencing major moisture issues.

I bought this dehumidifier after doing some research. Although a few reviews mentioned issues with online delivery, I decided to take the chance—and I’m glad I did. It arrived in excellent condition the very next day. The only hiccup was that the delivery associate called me for the PIN number before the package had even arrived. He later apologized, explaining there was a mix-up and he thought it had already been delivered. As for the product itself—it’s brilliant. It’s incredibly satisfying to see how much moisture it collects. My laundry dries much faster now, including heavy items like thick duvet covers and bath mats. It also displays the humidity level and features an air purification function. It’s only been a week, but so far, I’m very impressed with its performance and features. This monsoon won’t be unbearable and damp thanks to the new dehumidifier.

Please read full review before reaching conclusion Worst ever packaging from Amazon when it was first delivered Excellent product though(till the time it wasn't noisy) Works best for humidity control. I have seepage problem in my room and this guy fills up the water tank in approx 10 hours. Maintaining 50-60% humidity. If you clear the humidity by turning on AC for a while and then start this, it could be the best combo. Air purifier and other indicators are excellent. Shows when there is dust or odor. Tried and tested. Wish the display had a settifng where it could be kept "Always ON". So nice to look at it for the satisfaction. Pricey, but worth buying than going for local brands which may not scream quality, and would be just a bit less on price. Filter replacement might be tricky, as Sharp suggests that we need to clean the filter with Vaccum (surprising for an airpurifier) Expensive filters too. Product is Assembled in Vietnam and then for sensors part, it id made in china. That's what info I got from one of the sellers. On box it was written as Made in China. Sharp is now majority owned by a Taiwanese company Foxconn. I hope this helps in making you a decision to buy a product. Delivery was on time and not much padding was provided by Amazon, the original box was torn and ripped from some angles. Have a dent in the bottom left of the product due to this. Since the product was working, refrained from returning. I needed it. Bad on Amazon's impression. Hope they let this review go through. Sellers Techexperts(Rajesh) and NCRexpress(Anuraag) both were very helpful in explaining the product info. I would recommend buying from them anytime. Update after a week: Ordered a replacement from seller itself. The new device seems a bit noisy and very slow at detecting humidity and PM 2.5 count, I know this as I have used the same device before and have a Mi Air 3 running parallel. While cutting off the compressor it jerks a bit, which was not happening with the device that I returned first. Regretted the decision to return the first product later. Wish it was delivered properly the first time and I didn't have to go through the hassle of returning, re-ordering, and now possibly dealing with the warranty support. All in the very first month. (Did return first cause the box looked like it was used, torn apart, device was dented ) Amazon was quick to refund the amount as replacement was not available and I ordered from the seller after that. Update after 15 days: stopped using it after it made too much noise while I was asleep. The service guy was called in very first 10 days. Awaiting repair from Sharp. ☹️ Disappointed. The sensors are faulty too. Doesn't detect pollution fast enough. A.Nand's review on the review page is right. Started happening for me. Makes more noise than a refrigerator now.
