Every action has consequences . . . and trusting Kayden, the one thing she most desires, might result in the direst consequences of all. New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, whose searing novels generate "enough heat . . . to start a fire" ( RT Book Reviews ), dares you to fall in love with her irresistibly surprising and sexy new series. Review: Hot, suspenseful, and sexy. A must read. - Demand By: Lisa Renee Jones 5 Star review by Kristie K. The second installment in the Careless Whispers series by Lisa Renee Jones, Demand picks up where Denial left off. Ella’s fragile trust in Kayden is shaken, and we wait to see if this is the end of their burgeoning relationship or if it will further solidify them together. Ms. Jones keeps the suspense high, and with every answer we get, another mystery surfaces. Ella is becoming more and more confident in her own abilities, though the amnesia still creeps up and causes frightening lapses in time. The constant unknown of when her memories will surface hangs over them like a guillotine. When Ella believes that someone within The Underground may be working against Kayden, suspicions arise around several key players, making Ella concerned for all their safety. I have always loved suspenseful mysteries, and Ms. Jones definitely delivered in both installments of the Careless Whispers series. I have always had mixed emotions about cliffhangers, as I can see why the author would use one, but at the same time I have a hard time staying interested, or remembering the previous book when the new one comes out. Since the previous installment of this series did end on a cliffhanger, I was concerned I wouldn’t remember what was happening. Ms. Jones helped me out with this issue by putting a short recap of the previous events at the beginning of the book. I thoroughly enjoy the style of writing, and the flow is seamless. The characters are likable, and completely believable. The sexual tension is palpable, and the love scenes are HOT. I totally enjoyed the twists and turns the storyline took, and both loved and despised the new players we were introduced to. Ms. Jones proved why she belongs on the bestsellers list with this book. A definite home run. I can’t wait to see what happens in the third installment. I only wish I didn’t have to wait to read it! Review: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! FIVE STAR MUST READ!!!!! - Demand is the second book in the Careless Whispers Series. This book starts where Denial left off. Ella is still suffering from amnesia but slowly bits and pieces of her memories have started to come back like pieces of a puzzle that she has to try to put together. While Kayden is the man who has been protective of her, she still questions whether she should trust him or not. She is questioning everything and everyone. But, neither Ella or Kayden can deny the chemistry they have or the fact that they're falling for each other. Without giving details that would be spoilers, I'll just say that this book will take you on a roller coaster ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It's full of twists and turns, ups and downs, a lot of suspense, intrigue, angst, mystery, romance, action, and sexiness, etc... Lisa Renee Jones intriguing love stories have complex main characters and then she weaves in mystery, adventure, danger, and romance into what turns into magic. This captivated me from the first page. I couldn't put the book down until I finished the very last page. Many of the unanswered questions are revealed but of course this book ends on a cliffhanger leaving you begging for the third book in the series SURRENDER. I can't wait for it!!! Lisa Renee Jones is an absolute genius when it comes to writing. Especially, her Romance Suspense/Mystery novels. This series can be read as a Stand alone series but I strongly urge you to go back and read her Inside Out Series. It's a 5+ STARS read and Ella is introduced in that series as well as some of those amazing characters from that series are in The Careless Whispers Series. Everything LRJ does, she knocks it out of the ballpark! DEMAND is an absolute Amazing read! It's a MUST READ!!! FIVE FABULOUS STARS!!!!!l😊

Cliffhanger resolution could have been better but still a good book 2 of 3
I liked this book a lot but it didn't quite have the zing of the first book. I still loved the story and the characters although we are learning about them at a snails pace. I think the reason I'm not willing to give this a 5star is because of the double cliffhanger from the first book was somewhat resolved in the second but at a leisurely pace. I was waiting for more bang after the first book's ending and the fact that I had to wait so long for the resolution. To be fair, I'm not a fan of cliff hangers and to wait just builds up what the solution needs to be in my mind, so I'm not sure if there would be a resolution that would have been good enough. Thankfully the 'cliff' on this one was more of a hill so I'm not as upset by this break in between book 2 & 3. Overall I really like the story. Hate the price gouge trapping you into buying the second two books at such an elevated price. I probably wouldn't have bought them if I knew it was a series with cliffhangers, but that would have been a shame since I totally loved the first book which kept you guessing all the way through. This second book is also very good.

At the end of Denial, Ella has some memories that become revealed, ones that connect to Kayden and she begins to doubt his true intentions. But as the secrets and reveals begin to pour out between them, a honest trust forms even more solidly. But their search for the necklace becomes even more paramount and hiding Ella from some hidden enemies that would destroy her if they got their hands on her with the intent to destroy all that she loves... First Line I sit inside the show, the water's spray washing blood from my jeans and T-shirt and splattering Kayden, who kneels in front of me. The Main Protagonists The Hero: Kayden Wilkens The Heroine: Ella Ferguson What I Loved Whew this book was a wild ride that just continues on from "Denial" and I wasn't sure how this author would even up the ante in this one but boy does she ever! Its books like this that is a testament on why I truly love this author so much. Because even when her stories aren't quite perfect, they are a niche of the genre that I just want to gobble up all day long. This book is really focused on Ella's past, her connection to her parents and we get some more memories that become revealed to her. The true villain of the story is slowly revealed and what he has put Ella through is definitely some bad stuff. So you can see why she is so tormented even in fractured memories that are just bits and pieces of who she is. The memories that I found the most impactful were the ones with her father. Man my heart just broke about what we learn about her parents but you also see how it only is the driving force for Ella and who she truly is. What I Struggled With I don't think I truly struggled with anything in this book. I loved all the happy couple time with some angsty moments that we see between this couple. Now this type of romance storytelling might not work for everyone, but I was just endeared seeing this couple really come together and just enjoy their moments together. Narration As with book 2, this narrator did a spectacular job in really building up the tension and plot building while centering the reader with the character depth. Overall View Demand is a superb installment that only delves deeper into Kayden and Ella's relationship, giving us more clues on the mystery to be solved and a truly passionate affair that is so touching and poignant in brilliantly mastered emotion. Lisa has left me in a tailspin. This cliff hanger is warping my brain. Amazing. Counting the days to December.
I just finished Demand and I am just speechless. Trying to wrap my head around all the twists and turns and intertwining from the other series. Kayden is making me re-think my book boyfriend rankings. But there is something about him I can’t put my finger on. I was screaming at the end of the book, “Oh NO she didn’t” and now I have to wait until December to find out what happens. I tried to explain the pain to my husband and he just shook his head. Lisa has done it again providing us with a book that is powerful, passionate, suspenseful, frightening, complex and spell binding. I love Kayden and Ella's story. They seem to work well together. Kayden has deep feelings for Ella and a strong need to protect her. Ella has feelings for Kayden and wants to protect him and at times she thinks that is by removing herself. She must trust her instinct because she still can't remember everything. The story twists and turns and melds into one that I couldn't put down. I was questioning each of the characters, their motives, their passion and I still have the goosebumps about things that happened in the castle. This book has amazing complex characters that are developed further. Each person in the book is playing a key role and isn't just thorn in to fill space. Lisa's writing style is intense not only in the nature of the story line but with the sex scenes too. Lisa has left me in a tailspin. This cliff hanger is warping my brain. Amazing. Counting the days to December.

Lisa Renee Jones 5+ smashing stars Do amazing things come in twos and threes
Title: Demand Author: Lisa Renee Jones 5+ smashing stars Do amazing things come in twos and threes? It would seem that with Lisa Renee Jones' Denial series, it does. I'm not sure how that was possible, but Demand was even better than Denial, and that's saying a lot considering that all my spare time was spent reading. It took me less than a day to finish Demand because it was that entrancing and suspenseful. I HAD to know what this power couple was going through and the update on Ella's memory recovery on whether or not she's finally found out who HE is. That elusive man that us casting such a deep and long shadow over their heads since it would seem that he keeps popping up when things are going well between Ella and Kayden. Only, after finding out, I'm not sure if it's a blessing or a curse (and no, I'm not about to unravel that important tidbit of information). Finally getting to know more about who, what and where Ella (is from) just solidified my belief that she is the perfect woman to stand by Kayden's side as the Hawk's woman and mate. 4 breathtaking dreams No matter what new memory is uncovered, it will always astound me on just how their bond strengthens - even if Ella is scared of the outcome of finally unlocking all of her memories, never does Kayden's faith in their ability to face everything together waver. Of course there are times when Ella is afraid of the unknown, but once she faces those small demons, it becomes clear on why she managed to survive everything HE put her through. I loved how we find out little by little the secrets that Ella keeps hidden rather than in one huge pile within a few days. I enjoyed watching Ella become the woman that she was meant to become, flourishing under Kayden's protection. And even more so, I was captivated by the changes that Kayden undergoes from being the cold hearted man who would act before thinking, closing off his emotions to all to becoming the man that would do anything and everything in his power to protect the woman that he has fallen head over heels for. I'm certain that the last instalment of this series will be unlocking so many other secrets that will have me gaping and thoroughly surprised, wanting to know more about the author behind the storyline. *ARC provided by Author in exchange for an honest review. CIA, mafia, bad cops, hot kayden, blood, passion, tears
The first book in this series sets a very high bar, so I guess I shouldn't be as surprised to find myself not as into this one as the first. Not only does it not leave you with as much of a cliff hanger, but you know where you stand with the majority of the characters and the scene has been set. I do not think I will be continuing this series, but I'm sure it has a lot of passion, mystery, lust, etc to give.

So so good!
I just love this whole series! I started with Rebecca's journals, when they first came out, then I read the Inside Out series and now this series. I became staukingly curious and ridiculously, obcessively worried about Ella when she first appeared in the Inside Out series. All I could think about was what could have happened to her. So, I just live this series and the answers we are getting. Oh my goodness, book 1 started right off with amnesia, so we have been learning about who Ella is and what she has been up to right along with her. It is never a dull moment, so much mystery and intrigue and a little scarey. Learning some interesting things about Ella. She was not just a regular school teacher. There is definitely more to this chick. But it is not just all about Ella learning who she is and what happened to her, there is also this budding romance between her and Kayden and wow, they are so hot together! Steamy, steamy, steamy! She is really tough and has been through so much. You will love reading this book, but read Denial, the first book, first. Can't wait for Surrender!! It is so long til January!

Love this spin off!
Ella's past is making me more and more drawn to the series. All we really knew about her from Inside Out series that she was Sara's best friend and wanted to marry David but now we know she might be more than just a teacher. She can dance and she's great with guns. I'm usually drawn to opposite attract couples but there are some, like Kayden and Ella who I enjoy that have a totally different pasts but they are alike. They both have lost a lot of people and they both have a dark side. That's why they're able to connect and Kayden doesn't need to be careful with her. He can tell her things about the Underground without being afraid she'll get upset and leave him. They're alike even in ways neither of them know. Kayden and Ella both need each other to be handle the good, the bad and even the ugly part of themselves. I'm delighted they are deciding to be together, no matter what happens despite not knowing everything from Ella's past. They're taking control of the situation and they're doing it together. They refuse to let anything from either of their pasts stop what they're now. I found it really sweet how they wanted to keep each other safe but neither really want to be protected. He wants a lot of things from her. Protection isn't one of them. Kayden never wants anything Ella doesn't give him freely and I love that he wants to make her bad memories good ones. He'd rather she didn't remember than be in pain and I think that's sweet. But he won't stop her either. Kayden just wants her to ease into it instead of doing it all at once. We finally know who is the man who Ella is so afraid of but I'm more interested in what happened with David. Hopefully it will be revealed in Surrender. There's so many questions related to him. We also got a tiny bit of information about Kayden's relationship with Elizabeth and he could never trust her the way he trusts Ella because Elizabeth never knew the real him and she was too delicate for his life and he had too keep her shielded. All in all wonderful sequel! I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed it and can't wait to read the last book. I have many hopes for it after reading Demand. Not just answers but also Ella choosing to wear the bracelet, knowing what it means and not just wearing it because she had to in public. I love Ella and Kayden and they're so great together even if they have some distrust between them at times but it's no wonder since she has amnesia and there are things he doesn't always tell her right away. If you like some mystery and suspense with your romance and don't mind the whole amnesia trope I'm totally recommending this one. It has been fun and I never want to put the book down. I was going to give Demand only four stars but after reviewing it I think it totally deserves full five stars. This kind of books are so rare for me and I really did love it.
