Great for making tabouli

What an eye opener! There is NO comparison between this and bulk bulgur, and most of the health food store packaged brands. It has such great texture and flavor!! The other is like tasteless mush.

Burghol (cracked wheat) is it essential ingredient of Tabboule, which is a staple of Middle Eastern cuisine. This particular brand is an excellent one. The burghol was fresh tasting as in not stale, was within its expiration date, as in not expired old product, was well packaged, and arrived on time. Good product.

This is for another family but it looks good

Very nice, and I have no complaints, so no reason not to give it 5 stars. HOWEVER, next time I will order a brand like Bob's Red Mill, with the hull still attached, and crack it myself. I prefer the slight chewiness of that approach. This was just too ... refined? ... for my preference, although the tabouli salads I have been making with it are getting rave reviews from others. And by the way, do NOT cook the bulgur for tabouli — no boiling water, etc. Just soak an hour and use, with fresh lemon juice plus zest, a bit of green onion or chopped vidalia, and mounds of chopped mint and parsley; finish with a little olive oil, and sugar (to offset the lemon), salt, and pepper. Much, much better, and this brand certainly is up to the taste test for this very fresh approach!

Very rich in fiber which is exactly what I was looking for. I don't know how on earth the bulgur wheat in my neighborhood is processed. I've checked a few brands and none of them have nearly as much fiber as they should (they have 1g to 3g per quarter cup - this one has 8g), so I was glad to find this here on Amazon. I eat my wheat as hot cereal in the morning. I cook it and eat it like oats (cooked in a pot on the stove and eaten with a bit of milk and sugar). It's so fast, ready within a couple of minutes, and tastes great with a piece of fruit. I would definitely recommend this wheat.
