The flip out portion of the old fob broke. It takes a small amount of mechanical aptitude to drive the roll pin out of the new flip out part and place the original key in its place and drive the pin back in. Break open the old fob case with a screwdriver and move the circuit board and battery to the new case. Remember to wind the key/spring once and assemble the new case. Works great. By the way, a new fob/key costs over $70. This replacement key flob case is absolutely GREAT! However, if you don't want to pay extra to get the new key blade cut by a locksmith, you CAN swap just the blade over to the new hinge assembly. Even though they look alike, the release pin is slightly smaller and the old assembly wouldn't work in the new flob case for me. Doing an easy online search, I found an instructional video that was very helpful. Take your time and follow the instructions and you'll save yourself a ton of money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars You will not be able to reuse your old key. Took me all of 5 minutes to replace the mother board. Installing my old key blade is a different story. The push button doesn't line up all that well and the new one doesn't seem to line up with the old key.
