The aluminum in the white compound is much softer than the chromium in the green. We always used the white in our music shop to polish silver band instruments rather than the green. **Q: can all 3 be used on the same piece of leather strop or do I need 3 different strips??** A: If you really clean and scrape the whole leather piece in between each compound use then you could use one strop, but then you’re waisting compound a ton and it can take time to put each one on and take it off.
