Brought back to life a nearly-dead battery
I purchased 2 of these to maintain two car batteries (20 Watt + 10 Amp solar controller). PROS: I measured up to 37 Watts (2.6 Amps x 14.4 Volts) under direct sunlight from one of these small panels. The solar controller works nicely with these panels and can safely handle up to a 100 Watt panel. The wire length from the panel (~18 inches) and to the battery (~24 inches) is a good compromise. As stated in the review title, one of my batteries was at 11.7V and one of these panels was able to bring the battery back to a steady 12.5V over a 2-day period (to be fair, the battery is already 7 yrs old and is nearing the end of its life). CONS: (a) The cable screws in the solar controller are small and one has to be careful not to over-torque, and at the same time being careful in that the cables actual catch and hold tight. (b) The solar controller is supposed to be user-settable for the max voltage (I set mine to 13.8V) however, they keep charging up to 14.4 and settle at that voltage. Not a big deal for standard car batteries but could be problematic if someone is using a more exotic type of battery. OVERALL IMPRESSION: while a bit pricey for what you get (~$50 each), I'm quite pleased with the Kit and do recommend it as a way to maintain your batteries.

works great on truck battery
my vehicle sits for long periods of time - I don't go to the office hardly ever and when I do drive to the grocery store, its the 35miles per gallon commuter that I take instead of the 14 mpg weekend warrior truck. Unfortunately, this means that my battery dies after about 30 days due to accessories drawing power like remote starter, antitheft system, etc. I ordered a 10W solar charger that did NOT do the job and the battery still died while connected to it in sunny arizona. I returned that charger and ordered this one. Well, once again my battery didn't have enough power to start the engine, and instead of jumping to start it, I attached this solar charger and let it sit. After 24 hours the batter once again had enough power to start the engine. Im happy with the power this produces and if left attached, it keeps my batter charged enough for starting - although my neighbors hate me because now I move my car out of the community / guest parking even less since I don't need to start it as often to re-charge the battery via the alternator :-D

It certainly charges but...
This setup is perfect for the beginners out there and I've really loved this kit for the price. It's super easy to connect everything! I even had this in my car for a little while mainly to start out with because I didn't have a suitable battery. I did finally buy a used lead acid battery that I am using but only temporarily. The panel itself appears to be well made and I have checked the voltage straight from the panel and I get 20 volts and you wouldn't want to connect this straight to your battery. And that is why you need a controller to lower the voltage and to apply either a steady current or a pulse charge which is just on off, on off etc. Haven't had any issues with the panel. It's definitely glass and can break so treat it gently. Haven't had any issues with water as of yet but I anticipate that it's waterproof. My only complaint is that when I set the float voltage to the battery on the included PWM controller, no matter what I set it at, in full sun the controller always charges the battery at 14 volts. And the same goes for when I set the output voltage, it will always be at the same voltage as what it's displaying on the screen and in full sun that's 14 volts. Most of the time if you are running something that is supposed to run from a 12 volt battery it's not a huge deal as most devices work fine at 14 volts because they are designed to, as when you're charging a 12v battery you want to charge it at least 13.8 volts which is typically what you see from your alternator in a vehicle. But if you're planning on running anything else just make sure you know what you are doing. As I mentioned, I am now using this on my house to charge batteries and I am planning on upgrading to Lithium batteries. I had to add some wire to the panel and I chose 16g for that and I'm not having issues. I'm using this for HAM radio so that I can always have a backup power source and this kit works great for this purpose! I would recommend this to anyone who just wants to keep their small lead acid batteries or lithium batteries charged. One thing to note is that the included PWM controller can only handle 10 amps. This means you can run a HAM radio but only one. Just do not exceed the amperage and you'll be fine. But I imagine that you could connect a inverter or something else as long as you connect it straight to your battery and bypass your controller. I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work. Just always be mindful of your voltage and amperage.

This little kit works great for my scooter!
There would be long stints between me using my scooter as it was gifted to me when I really didn't need it. But I still loved going around on it every now and then. The limiting factor would be having the battery get a little weak from sitting so long and making it difficult to start. I bought this and 3D printed some brackets to hold it on to the back of my scooter and just wired to the battery. Always had a full charge and was ready to go whenever I was. I think this little kit makes a pretty good battery tender as long as you do the due diligence of keeping it dry. There are a lot of battery tender options out there but I didn't want something that required it to be hooked up to an AC outlet or to my house with the inherent danger of charging a battery and where I usually parked it did not have an outlet. This was the perfect solution. Although if doing something in a marine application you may want to go with a waterproof charge controller but that's up to you.

Easy setup, works well, fully disconnect panel when not in use.
Added this to a seldom used parade vehicle to help increase the stamina of an auxiliary battery for accessories during the day. It works surprisingly well. My only issue was one day I disconnected the battery from the system to hook it up to a trickle charger. When I hooked the battery back up to the solar system it was still charging, but the screen on the controller no longer worked so wasn't sure if voltage was being properly regulated. I was able to exchange it, and have since made sure to disconnect the solar panel from the controller if I am disconnecting the battery. No further issues! Have already recommended it to friends.

1/2 Power 12v 20 watts
Could be better and the screws to tighten the MC4 cable is not recommented. ETFE panel doesn't seem to play nice with this panel repacement. I got this to use to keep the battery in my SUV AGM charged. Now don't get me wrong it does start up with the unit dropping down to 10.6v for the low. Once you start up you can go like this all day long start and shut and start and shut. Once you add a load to the solar controller than is were it's weakness is. This controller does light up at night to show me that panel is not charging battery and that the battery is charge is lower as well. I am security alarm that runs so the load is correct. Once the sun is up I see 14.0v to 14.5v when I first used it was much lower like 12.6v. I thought the battery was going on me. After using this kit the battery kept charging at stayed at 13.0v to 14.5v. Wow but only at night did it drop from 12.6 to 12.9v range. I had to switch the panel the sun relfection was just way to much on the 20 watt solar panel from Topsolar I had to mount mine on my dash. I going to tell you what heavy noisy panel it is. Racket. I was able to fix that by using sound proofing menthod I knew. That solved that issue. I would still be using that if the glass panel wasn't so reflective. This is better suited somewhere else. I keeping this kit though and might just get another 20 watt sinltce the controller can handle 136 watt on 12 volt system. This good start if your new to this solar power. TopSolar they go by a different name is under same parent company that sells a lot of products under Amazfit product line. I did a lot of research. I think most of what Topsolar is sold is what is made for them from another company that specializes in solar products. So your getting something really good just don't know why they don't make their solar controllers better way go cheap on those. Can't change the settings when you do it always reverts back to the default settings. Out of the box it is set to 24H operation I did try 12H didn't work right. No way to turn off load feature like it set to default. I don't have anything attached to the load like a extra 12v socket connection I had got for another vendor solar kit that one was 12v 5 watts nope not again. You really need 30 to 50 watts to keep your battery at peak this can do but that is all you can use that kit for if you add charging your cell phone you can and it charges it faster than their topsolar 30s/30 portable panels does. For the money I say yes. I shot a video on my Topsolar controller on the lower side of my dash and Topsolar 12v 20 watt panel on my dash. Update, I have to concur with another reviewer this is not pushing out 20 watts more like 10 watts. 30 watt panel is less than 20 watts. You'll need something like 50 - 55 - 60 watts. The way this panel works you can't even run two devices on the USB charger is a dead giveaway. I am not buying anything else from this company code name topsolar ever again. This 12v 20w and their 30s 12v 30w portable solar device had to be sent back. They are not working as advertized. I had ran some other test on the controller solar panel in the house and found out the panel is not pushing 20 watts. Solar Controller they give you is only 10 amp Need min of 20 amp Depends what you trying to use this kit for. Get a multi-tester and see for yourself. Goodluck. They cheapened it
I bought one of these about a year ago. I decided to buy another. The original had LED indicators, along with the LCD display. They lit up when the solar panel was connected/producing, the battery was good, the load was on, and 'fault'. 3 green, 1 red LED. Now, I get the latest and no more indicator lights. They cheapened it up. I won't buy again. ****** I'm updating this 1 day after I installed it. This cheapened version lasted not even 24 hours. I set up the proper battery, then installed the solar panel. This AM, I looked and the battery was good, load was on, but the solar panel indicator wasn't lit in the LCD screen. I measured the solar input screws on this controller. 23 volts was there, but the display wasn't lit up. I tossed in the trash and installed my back up from another co. The solar panel work fine though. My back up is now working fine. Update 2/2025; I had some issues with another one. The 20 watt battery wouldn't keep the battery topped off. I upgraded to a 50 watt solar panel. The load is a 12 volt LED clock that the display is lit 24/7. Just and fyi, unless Top Solar has changed, the instructions are in German. Do me no good. I found some other bargain PWM solar charge controllers on line, but my model is similar, but different enough that their instructions don't help me program mine. Shot in the dark programming these. Again, I will not purchase this companies PWM's again. I didn't want to spend a fortune charging 1 small battery. It was just a tinkering project. It is a clock in my garage, and it isn't running a nuclear plant.

1a Funktioniert tip top
Schnelle Lieferung.
