Does this model have a night light/light?

No but, there is a green light for the water cooler that is in the front.

Why does it have a chemical metallic taste? Do I have to clean the reservoir every month or when we are away for a few days?

I have owned this product for several months now and am totally satisfied and greatly enjoy the water passing though the machine. I have had to eperience with any foreign tastes...thus am unable to satisfy your question.

How much water is left in jug when the dispenser says that it's empty?

Maybe about an inch worth. YOu can take the bottle out and dump it in a container. I use it for the cat's water. I love this unit.
