I no longer have to worry about running out of battery. The charge from the case adds a whole charge and a 1/3 to the battery. I've had no problems with recharging the case with the supplied usb cord, my Kindle fire cord, as well as my generic car charger. I'm not sure why others have experienced charging problems. I purchased two of these cases, and could not be happier. It does take almost 5 hours to fully charge both the phone and then the case. However I only need to recharge every 2-3 days. There have been no problems with using the phone while it's charging.I have added a tempered glass screen protector. The case has held up great to all of life's normal bumps and drops with no sign of any damage to either the phone or the case. It's great that Amazon has these cases for such an affordable price. If you're used to the protection you get from an Otterbox Defender case you will not be disappointed with this one. You get excellent protection, along with only a slight length added to the phones dimensions. ### ⭐⭐ Definitely Disappointed *by C***N on February 11, 2017* I purchased the case on April 6 2016. Initially I was impressed by they case, but within a month and a half the Ring/Silent part of the case was broken and no longer moved the actual button on my phone, which is still fine. As annoying as that was I just took it in stride because the case fit as expected, was durable, and held a charge.Flash forward to now, 10 months later. The charge is terrible. I charge the case all night after it is drained, and If I try and use the recharge option, I get no more than a 20% bump! Today I pressed it to charge while my phone was at 19% and when it got to 34% it was dry. WTH? The entire point of getting the case was to protect the phone, but more so, to charge it and have a back up, and it doesn't work! It has been this way for a week or so, and I let it slide but kept an eye one it. The battery definitely doesn't hold up or give the same charge as 10 months ago.I feel that for the limited times I used the recharge feature, it should be in top working order still. I also feel that it should not be this big a difference in less than a year.One final thing (with all covers like this), whoever makes the decision to have small circular headphone jack holes needs to be fired. How can you used a real set of headphones with a jack hole like that? They should be big enough to accommodate shorter, square, or other shapes of headphone cables without an extender. I never understood this.Definitely disappointed. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The Quality You Know and Love with Otterbox, Minus the Promise of a Charge *by J***E on July 17, 2016* I've now had this Otterbox case for my iPhone 6 for about 10 months, but around the 8th month mark, the case stopped charging my phone. I would attempt to charge the case by itself with the provided charging cable from otterbox, tried to also charge the case and phone together with the same cable, but no matter what I tried, the case (which showed 100% battery) would charge my phone for MAYBE 2% extra before it completely died. Granted, this case provided great protection against everyday usage and lives up to it quality name brand. But the fact that I spent extra money to get an Otterbox quality case that can ALSO charge your phone and it didn't even make it one year as the warranty guarantees, makes me very disappointed with this case. Otterbox needs to vastly improve their charging case lineups so that they can compete with other charging cases such as Mophie. Will see what their customer support can do about this issue and will update. Otherwise, it's just another plain Otterbox case.--UPDATE-- (August 3rd)Otterbox Customer Service has sent me a new case free of charge (You have to pay shipping and handling) without any questions except they asked me to verify that the case doesn't work properly anymore. The new case came in about 1-2 weeks later. It is worth noting that I was under warranty when I requested a replacement. So far, the replacement case works as expected. I probably will have to get a new one in 7-9 months, since it looks like many people have the same problem I did around that timeframe.Probably once this replacement case dies, I'll try Mophie and see if they are any better.
