Cortibalm is the one to get when you have tried everything else. It's the 1% hydrocortisone in it.
When I told my dental hygienist that my lips felt thick and almost a bit numb she suggested Dr. Dan's Cortibalm. She said her mother got relief with it. I have tried everything -- Burt's bees, O-Keefe's, Blistex, and even the luxury brand Nuxe honey lip balm (nuxe worked the best of those). It almost felt like my lips were allergic to something I was ingesting, but I was very interested when I found that this balm has 1% cortisone in it. Gave it a try and I am ordering more so I have them all around the house and in my purse. It worked and has kept my lips feeling normal. Thank goodness. Some complain about a bad flavor but I only taste a LITTLE bit of beeswax, and if you use Burt's Bees lip balms you have that already and Burt's is a stronger bees wax taste. I just ordered four more Cortibalm sticks and will keep using it. My hygienist was right -- this is the one to try when you have tried everything else. YAY!!

Best Product!
This tastes disgusting but works better than anything I've tried. I found a Vaseline based lip balm (ready that a petroleum-jelly is best) and due to overuse caused my lips to get very irritated and infected. They got so bad in areas I could feel occasional pus. Too busy to go to the doctor so researched on my own. I found a $28 gloss base that said it would heal. I was desperate. I could feel a tingle, hoping it was working. I had been struggling for at least a month and half. My lips would try to heal and cause my skin to dry and flake but it wasn't really healing. So disgusting. I researched further and found this medicated option. Much more cost friendly. I've been using it for over a week and my lips are almost healed. I find I don't lick my lips as often because it doesn't taste good and the balm is solid on my lips. This stuff is Amazing!! I threw out my petroleum based products.

Great for eczema
We love this lip balm! It was recommended by our dermatologist for our daughter who had a severe eczema rash all around her mouth. We paired it with a prescribed steroid, and this has maintained the progress so we don't have to resort to the steroid as much.

The Only Lip Balm That Actually Works When Nothing Else Does
I struggle badly with cracked, painfully dry lips every winter. Not just dry, but the kind that split at the corners and start to hurt, especially when it is cold and windy. On top of that, stress tends to trigger cold sores for me, which makes lip care even more important. If you know, you know. I have tried just about everything over the years. Standard lip balms, medicated sticks, overnight masks, and constant reapplication throughout the day. Most of them either sit on top of my lips or stop working the moment they wear off. This is different. When my lips are at their worst, this is the only thing that actually helps them calm down and heal. It goes on smoothly, does not feel greasy, and starts providing relief quickly. With regular use, my lips feel less painful, less tight, and noticeably better overall. The texture is comfortable, and a little goes a long way. I do not feel the need to constantly reapply it, which is a big improvement over typical lip balms. The tubes are easy to keep on hand in different places, which is helpful since this is something I reach for consistently during colder months. From a value standpoint, the multi-pack makes sense if you deal with severe dryness like I do. It has become a staple for me every winter, and I no longer waste money cycling through countless other products that do not work. Overall, if you deal with severely chapped, painful lips and feel like nothing else helps, this balm is absolutely worth trying. It has made a real difference for me when my lips need more than basic moisture.

The Only Lip Balm That Works – Truly a Lifesaver!
I’ve tried countless lip balms over the years, but Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm 3-Pack is the only one that actually worked for me. Here’s why I highly recommend it: Pros: • Effective Relief: I’ve struggled with dry, cracked lips for a long time, especially during colder months. This balm is the only one that has provided real relief. It heals and moisturizes my lips quickly, leaving them soft and smooth. • Gentle and Non-Irritating: Unlike other balms that can sting or feel harsh on cracked lips, Dr. Dan’s is gentle and soothing. It provides instant comfort without irritation. • Long-Lasting Moisture: A little goes a long way. It lasts for hours, keeping my lips moisturized even in harsh weather. • Value Pack: Getting three in a pack is a great deal, especially since this has become my go-to lip balm. I keep one in my bag, one at home, and one in the car, ensuring I’m never without it. • No Unpleasant Fragrance: It has a mild, almost neutral scent, which I appreciate as some lip balms have overpowering fragrances that I don’t like. Cons: • Slightly Greasy Texture: It’s a bit on the greasy side compared to some other balms, but I personally don’t mind since it works so well for my dry lips. Overall: Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm is truly a lifesaver. After trying many other products with no success, this is the only one that consistently works to heal and protect my lips. The 3-pack is a great value, and I’ll definitely be sticking with this balm from now on!

Works Great—But Be Careful With Long-Term Use
I think this is a great product when used short-term and as intended, especially for severely irritated lips. It definitely works, which is probably why it became so easy for me to overuse it. I just wish I had understood sooner that the hydrocortisone makes it different from a regular lip balm and that it isn’t something I should have been applying several times a day for years. If you use it, I’d recommend treating it more like a medicated product than your everyday ChapStick.

Finally, relief!
I went to the beach and noticed about 3 days into our trip that my lips were very dry. I thought it would go away when I got home and out of the sun, but my lips didn't recover. They were very dry and the corners of my lips were beginning to have crack. I applied my normal Aquaphor lip balm regularly, but it wasn't helping to heal my lips. A search through Amazon and Reddit led me to purchasing this product late one night. It took a good week and a half before I noticed a substantial difference but I feel like my lips are pretty much back to normal now. I think I will continue to use it for the next few months until the three tubes that I purchased are used up. I didn't notice any weird taste or smell.

A MUST when taking Accutane!
This lip balm was a life send when I was taking Accutane! It was recommended by my dermatologist and I went through so many! I have since finished my course of Accutane, but I still use this chapstick because it’s the best I’ve found.

Great product for short term use
I’ve been combating dry skin for a year and a half, and this is definitely one of the best products I’ve used. Of course, a big part of that is because it contains hydrocortisone, but it’s so much better than using it from a tube and stays on for quite a while. This will definitely be a go to product in the future. Just make sure to only use it short term due to the steroid content.
