Persian Grove Journal

I bought three of these Peter Pauper journals and am so delighted with them that I thought I’d review them all. The important bits: As I said in other reviews, I can’t express how much these journals punch above their price point both in terms of quality and of artistic value. The details of the branches and animals are individually embossed, the gold gilding on the pages is beautifully done and the paper quality is top notch - your pen couldn’t bleed through the paper even if you wanted it to. Throw in the hardcover and the details on the spine, and these journals really feel and look like they came out of a Gilded Age industrialist’s private library. This journal seems to be a favorite and I think it’s for good reason. This is one that I can see being a gift for most types of personalities; it’s unique, striking and a bit whimsical, which is nicely counterbalanced by the black background. Of the three I bought this is the one that a friend liked so much she bought one too. There are a lot of designs to choose from but I think this one is both unique yet universal enough to satisfy a lot of different tastes. Anyway, in 2026, when the quality of everything has gone down the drain this journal series is the one outliers of being an incredible bargain for quality and design. I know this sounds like an ad but after buying overpriced slop from Amazon for years and almost resigning myself to constant disappointment it’s (happily) shocking that something so cheap is this lovely. I think I bought this for maybe $14 and would have happily paid $24 based on quality alone.

The Persian Grove Journal is absolutely stunning! The cover design is elegant and intricate, capturing a beautiful blend of art and craftsmanship. The paper quality is fantastic, smooth for writing without any ink bleed-through. It’s perfect for journaling, note-taking, or even sketching. The pages are just the right thickness, and the journal feels luxurious in your hands. I love how inspiring the design is—it truly makes you want to write or reflect. Highly recommend this journal to anyone who appreciates quality and beauty!

Excellent journal, great quality, durability and it's also very pretty. I bought it for the first time in December 2022, and in January 2026, three years later, I'm ordering another identical one. I love it

I have been using journals from Peter Pauper Press since 2010, and they have always been excellent. This journal is no different. The front and back covers are very sturdy, even after two years of daily use. The paper is thick and smooth, and ruled with light gray ink. I have yet to find a pen that doesn’t glide across it. The design on the cover is gorgeous, and is so much more detailed in real life than in the photo. There are only two things that I would change about these journals, and neither of them is worth removing a star: It would be nice if the journals would lay flat, and I really, really wish they would attach pen holders to all of their journals. I have an autoimmune disease and have to take medications several times a day, and I use these to keep track of what I take and when. A pen holder would make my life so much easier! I buy these every couple of years as a gift to myself, to make taking my medications seem just a little bit nicer. Whatever you’re using it for, I have no doubt that this journal will meet your needs. And, by the way, this is a real review, by a real person, who is honestly impressed by this journal, and paid for it out of her own pocket. No bull here!

This is such a beautiful journal! It has a nice page-count and the cover is so nice and detailed

the journal cover is so beautiful, amazing quality for the price. sturdy hard cover that is heavyweight and keeps the book closed. this is good because its not a journal with an elastic band closure. its a perfect journal size, not too wide. the cover design is really well printed (on both sides) with gold embossed texture on the line work. lovely long satin bookmark that is attached well. the paper quality is lovely for regular and even hobbyist use. I use it with my pilot kakuno fountain pen and it takes it really well. minimal ink ghosting on the other side and no bleeding at all. as you can see no feathering either. the lines are well spaced, not too close together (22 lines per page) and are a faded grey. love the book its beautiful and functional

Maravilloso libro de notas! Encuadernación perfecta. Hojas de papel libre de ácidos, increíblemente aptas para archivo. Muy adecuadas para tinta e incluso para acuarela. Es muy grueso. Viene en tamaño A-5 y es estupendo para escribir poemas favoritos. Yo los ilustro con acuarelas desde hace años. Se necesita muy buen papel para que la obra dure en perfecto estado, y estos "journals" lo son.
