I decided to try these and see if they could knock out both of my requirements with one ethernet cable run to each pi. I didn't have high hopes based on some reviews and the knowledge that a pi 3 plug delivers 3 amps while these only promise to deliver 2.4 amps.Before you buy these there are a few things you need to understand.1. You need an ethernet switch that has POE support.2. If you have a switch that supports POE you need to make sure it can supply the power you need to consume. Not all POE switches are created equally!!3. If you have a switch that supports POE not all of the ethernet ports may support POE, make sure you use a port that has POE support.4. Because of the power limitations of POE and these splitters they may not supply enough power to your pi if it runs very heavy loads.I think some of the reviews that say these don't work may be people who didn't have the correct equipment.I received the splitters plugged them in and they worked!! I ordered more and they worked. I have not had one that did not work and now I don't need a power plug and ethernet cable run for each pi.
