Will it fit energy-efficient CFL lightbulbs?

G stands for globe, and the largest globe type bulb you can put into this lamp is a G14, which has a Candelabra Base E12. I wish that amazon would let us post a picture or give a link to picture, so you can see. For some reason I cannot even insert a link to a bulb on amazons own site for the correct bulb.....So, here is the description for the correct bulb: Sunco Lighting 6 Pack G14 LED Globe, 5W=40W, Candelabra Bulb, 450 LM, 2700K Soft White, Small Edison Screw Base E12, Frosted - UL. I hope this helps!

How does the shade fit/stay on....(i.e. wire over the light bulb or finial type)

It is the finial type - not wire over the light bulb.

Is the shade a clip on? Or does the shade attach to the base?

Two of these lamps failed the second day of use

I love the idea of this lamp - and the great colors - but I ordered two and they both stopped working after a day. I thought the first one was just an unlucky dude but the second one did the same thing - stopped working the next day. Too bad.
