Got them to measure things which could become scratched from using standard, steel tape measure. Much better than the smaller, cheap retractable tape measures as the ends on those falls off within a few weeks or months of use making them useless. I had about a dozen of the small retractable tapes but all have been junked except one. That one has clear tape over the end to prevent the head from falling off. I plan to cut and mount some of these heavy duty yellow tapes to a 36" board to create my own yardstick.
