Excellent little tool for trimming!

Quality clay carving tool. Does what it is meant to do. It’s a tool that will last a long time with just a little love. Great value. Plan to buy more of the same brand for other clay carving designs.

Pros: Probably my favorite, most-used ceramic design tool. If you like sgrafitto and to incise thin-line designs into your clay, this is indispensable-- unlike needles and ball tip tools, it removes the clay from the incisions. Allows very tight turns and easy variation in thickness of incised line. Con: It's a thin wire, so not the most durable tool, expect to replace it every so often, especially if you use it on leather-hard ware. I always have a couple of them on hand for that reason, you can afford to at this list price.

Taking my first wheel throwing pottery course and I’m hooked on it. Tried sgraffito on one little trinket dish that turned out okay but I didn’t have great tools so it made it much harder, more laborious and time consuming. Breezed through 3 larger pieces yesterday with this little tool…sgraffito still takes a good amount of time, depending on the complexity of your design, but this little tool cuts clean ribbons out of clay, even when slightly past the leather hard stage. Perfect little tool!

It’s a little expensive but worth every penny if you’re doing detailed pottery

Item broke first time using. Returned at UPS store at same time as another return but Amazon says it this item has not been returned so haven’t been refunded. Which is not the fault of the seller or the product, but overall frustrating purchase. I wouldn’t purchase again or recommend to others
