Requires very little maintenance of dishwashing sponges used for all purposes. Do not scratch chromium, copper, stainless steel, anodized surface, non-stick cooking tools, glass, crystals, ceramics, ceramics, ceramics, etc. 100% non-filling.Eggs and melted cheese, too. I really like the plastic woven kinds that look sort of knitted together that you can get in specialty stores, but I notice they definitely take on a bacterial/mildewy odor within 24 hours after using them. I wash them in the dishwasher, zap them in the microwave, but the smell never completely leaves. When I saw the reviews for these I thought, "Why not?" I'm so glad I did. They are light weight, but you can wad them up, put a little soap on them and wash ANYTHING. They work great for cleaning greasy pans, stuck/baked on foods, creamy, chocolatey, peanut butter messes. They polish up the sink and faucets nicely. They are gentle enough to clean up splatters off painted kitchen walls. The best thing is they are so light weight that once you rinse them out well you can just hang them over the faucet handle or the sink bar to dry (they dry super fast) and reuse over and over with no bacteria and no odor. In addition to these I bought the Swedish dish towels (to reduce my use of paper towels) and those are amazing too. See my review for those. I am using the two products together for about 70% of my household cleaning and pretty much only use paper towels for cooking bacon in the microwave (splatters less) and as napkins now. These two handle almost everything else.
