French Beret - Wool Solid Color Womens Beanie Cap Hat

I ordered the blue and dark olive colored berets. Both are beautiful and made well. The blue one is much more of a vivid color than it appears online. They’re a nice size, fit well and stay on. Can’t wait for some cool weather so I can wear them!

Nice beret and color is rich. It would be nice if it came in a S M or L size instead of one size fits all. Nice hat for the price.

I was a little apprehensive about the one size. However I was pleasantly surprised that these cute Berets fit my head just right no matter how I positioned them (I'd ordered the two shown above). I bought one for me, and a second for my sister. So happy I did as these berets where such high quality, beautifully made, and quite warm! I'm sure she'll love hers as much as I do mine! Gorgeous colors,too!

I usually buy berets from Parkhurst, and am happy with their quality. But that company does not have a light blue color, so I went outside my usual supplier. This company's beret is about 1/3 the cost of a Parkhurst beret. The felting was minimal so you could see the underlying fibers. Globs of loose felt of the beret's color or alternate color could be picked off by hand. The beret fits more sloppily on the head and does not hold its shape. Also there were stray threads I had to clip off by hand. Long story short, for a long life and good performance this is probably not the best choice. Some day I'll try one of those French-made berets (Parkhurst are Canadian) but those run 2 to 3 times the cost of the Parkhursts, or 6 to 8 times the cost of this item.

I like wearing berets with my casual outfits, I have several traditional felted wool French berets purchased from a different seller & those are much thicker than this one - however being lighter & thin enough to see the weave in the material, I can wear this one with Spring & Fall outfits when the weather is too warm for a traditional heavy felted beret - I have tried a few lightweight knitted berets offered by other sellers such as BYOS, but find the knitted style are smaller in circumference & so don't look as full when worn side-drape beret style, so I use those as a hijab/tichel snood instead, they work very well for that purpose These lighter-felted berets are (currently) about $10, the quality is excellent - the heavier felted berets I had purchased were about $15, I do like both and for different reasons

You can spend more and the quality might be slightly better, however I have multiple colours because for each outfit I wear a matching colour theme goes on my head. A 10-15 dollar beret instead of a $30 saves money. I don't circulate socially with a Saks Fifth Avenue crowd. Men with larger than a 22 inch circumerce might have a problem,
