Seagrass straw lifeguard hat with front woven patch, drawcord and adjustable toggle Review: XL - For all to share happiness For me, being like most, My head is bigger than my body 7-3/4 New Era hat, or mostly XL, sometimes a Large. This hat fits perfectly. Even with all my thick hair, I can pull it down to my ears. So I looked in the mirror and I looked like that Cartoon Monkey D Luffy, without intent, for all I was looking for was the Lifeguard style hat to block the sun like real sailors wear on their boats. Also the hat came in almost a hat box perfect box. And the hat is of very high quality even for Billabong. I seen the other hats at Billabong and New Era, I don't play baseball, so I'd rather not wear a hat at all in public. But on the boat or beach. I hope you don't buy one, cause I did. Another question I was wondering, the liner. It's a 1" very thin nylon band like any hat would have. Not no where as thick as a baseball hats that puts a mar I see on some folks foreheads. Also, don't buy one if you didn't already know a straw hat is cooler than any other kind material for a hat in the sun. Fact, if I watch a baseball game, i feel sorry for those fashion caps, cause they cook my brains out. Cowboys know that to, so it was either this or a cowboy straw hat. heehaw:) Just 2 more things, The brim is 4 in. front and back and 4.5 in. on this sides where the band goes through solid brass grommets. All I can tell is ORANGE means the Billabong 2.25" patch has a orange embroidering boarder around it circumference. Review: XLRG for sure, but that's what I need - I like the simple style of this hat. I found that the cord is comfortable against my skin and beard. The cord latch is easy to use and holds securely. I wore the hat at the slightly windy Bolsa Chica beach here in southern California and it would have kept the sun off my head if the sun had decided to come out that day. The hat survived the wind no problem. The weave of the straw is not real tight, so a bit of sun does make it through the cracks. I'm not bald so that's ok for me. The top most peak of my hat has a few bits of straw that have cracked and peeled. That's not a big deal, yet, and I hope it never becomes a big deal. The outer perimeter of the underside of the hat has a lot of free straw ends that can catch on things. It hasn't been a problem yet, but I can see how it could be. This hat fits my XLRG head like XLRG hats from Goorin do, so I would say this hat is more of an XLRG than a one size fits most.

Adequate
Hat works well, but I wouldn't pay more than $20 bucks for this hat,, seems all these type of hats fall apart, need to take care and use gently

Hat size
Fit all is incorrect. It was way to big with no way to make it smaller. It was returned for this reason.

Way to big and I am a big guy. ...
Way to big and I am a big guy. Will have to add an insert to get it to fit properly.

Great for beach
I bought this for my son who has a large head and wanted a beach fishing hat... well it fits great and he loves it!! gets lots of compliments on it! so if you have a small head it may not work for you but my son LOVED it!!

almost perfect
Only problem was it was slightly too big for my boyfriend's head but no other complaints. Shipped quickly, good quality, wasn't bent from box(I was surprised). Would recommend.

Too Large
One size does not necessarily fit all. My husband usually wears a large hat but this was too large. Very well made though and very fast delivery.
