Really like this, good to have a bit of an all-in-one tool kicking about in my bag. Covers a few bases without taking up much space. Works well and feels solid. Five stars.

I really like this. I carry it everywhere I go. You will not even know it is clipped on your pocket or belt. I love all the things it does an now I always have a pen handy! Highly recommend this product. Good price and quality also. I will be purchasing a few more.

I like the weight of it and of course, the features. Ink pen, bottle opener, screw driver, hex wrench, defensive tip, and flashlight all-in-one. There's also little metal teeth on one side of the wrench attachment that can be used to cut through SOME items or even open a box. It also comes with ink refills and additional batteries. Plenty of functionality. This metal pen feels great in your hands. I like that, should you have to defend yourself, the flashlight end's edges aren't jagged where you would need to place your thumb, like some others. The smooth edge keeps you from injuring yourself. It writes well, so I really like that as well. All pluses! Minuses? Just two if you want to call them that. The ink pen cap can't be screwed on the opposite end for safekeeping. However..... the opposite end has the defensive tip. So, do you want this product to defend yourself if needed, or as a writing tool? Pick your REAL battles. The flashlight isn't as bright as it appears in the ad video. Yes, I know it's a pen light. I also have other penlights I carry that are VERY bright. I was hoping not to have to carry both. I reached out to the Seller, who is GREAT by the way, and mentioned the dim light. They QUICKLY sent out another, without having to return the first one, to rectify the issue. The second pen's flashlight was only slightly brighter, so one can deduce that it's either a battery issue, a bulb issue, OR just that the pen's light isn't that bright. So I'll have to continue carrying my other penlight. Either way, weapons aren't allowed in my workplace, so having something on me for defense (since some coworkers tend to forget and leave outer doors ajar) gives me a little more sense of security, so I'll be keeping it. Oh, and it fits nicely in every pocket. I definitely recommend buying it, still. I still think it's worth it. I still think it's a good product, and a good buy. I would have given it 4.5 stars, only taking half a point due to the flashlight, but that's not an option. Nonetheless, get it. You'll like it.

This tri-Function Kubotan is a very unweildy pen. The "pen" comes in a nice sturdy gift box containing the device, ink refills, and spare batteries. It is made with strong, high-quality materials. Even in the instances where the parts weren't planned out properly or affixed to one-another securely so they wouldn't be wobblies, the materials were good. I've had this device for over a year, and it really only has two parts that are both easily usable and reliable, and out of an advertised six, that's not acceptable. Sections separated by *, for each part of the Kubotan. *The emergency window-breaker/pressure point tool/kubotan tip is very strong, and pointed, but thankfully not sharp. It could easily wear a hole through fabric if kept in a pocket regularly, and the textured grip will prove handy for both maintaining forward thrust in wet situations such as breaking a car window underwater, and gathering a valuable DNA sample if it needs to be used to defend against an attacker. Suggestion: Use the sturdy clip or a belt-mounted pen holster for daily carry and easy access. *The tool portion of the pen containing the wrench, saw, bottle-opener, and screwdriver is made of sturdy coated steel, but is quite wobblies in it's setting. I would not trust it to withstand any significant torque before falling apart. Suggestion: Maybe a little JB Weld around the base would secure it further, but I don't hold out much hope. *Pen is more trouble than it's worth, as it does not screw securely into device body for use, forcing the user to unscrew the pen from the body then find a place to put the oversized 'cap' every time one wishes to jot a note. Writing with such a short pen can cause hand cramping. It also prevents this pen from being used primarily as a writing utensil, as inferred in the description. Device must be stored in self-defense mode, making use of the pen function incredibly unwieldy. Suggestion: Use the pen cartridge compartment for holding matches, fish-hooks, or other tiny gear instead, and carry a pen too. The manufacturer could put the correct threading on the pen section so it can all go together in pen configuration instead, but until that is fixed, the pen part is better suited to being a storage compartment. *Dual-function flashlight has a solid-on and a flashing mode. When the batteries are new, the light is bright enough to find your keys or walk a known path or sidewalk at night in an area without streetlights. Suggestion: Perhaps it would be brighter if the led were replaced with some chip-style LEDs which are brighter and more efficient, but even then it would likely not produce defensive or signaling-capacity brightness. * In closing, it is an inexpensive base for modifications, if one has the time and skill, and it could become something pretty cool given some effort as it, it's worth the money for what it does properly. Despite the lovely presentation packaging, I wouldn't give it to anyone in it's current form unless you know a survivalist who is always bragging about their latest overdesigned gadget, or a DIY buff who would have fun customizing it into something truly worthwhile. Research the Kubotan for description, history, and techniques of use for this unique modern self-defense tool. All in all, I'm not upset that I bought it, but I wouldn't purchase it again. Suggestion: Spend the extra few dollars to get a better device that doesn't claim to do so much, but at least can uphold it's claims.

I have a pen which has an LED light at the writing end for taking notes during an office presentation when the lights are dimmed. I was looking at purchasing similar pens for a couple of EDC packs I'm creating for my adult sons as Christmas gifts when I came upon the Tactical Pen theme. I thought this was more of a novelty until I saw some companies are charging upwards of $80 for tactical pens, which is bonkers knowing how easy it ease to lose pens. Anyways, this unit caught my eye because it was a tactical pen with an LED flashlight as well as a window breaker. The multi-tool I thought was more of a gimmick, and after receiving the pen and looking it over I don't estimate it will ever be used. First off, the box it comes in is gift quality and the contents inside are nicely secured with a dense foam insert. The presentation with the lid off is really nice and anyone receiving this will think it's a quality product. There are batteries already in the unit, plus a spare set in the foam along with ink refills. The light is maybe 10-15 lumens I'd guess...bright enough to find your keys if you dropped them under your seat or whenever you just need to see in a tight space. Push the button once for on, again for strobe, and again for off. Since this is not a bright light, the strobe effect is really not going to do much to disorient anyone you shine it at and I'd prefer the light just turned on and off. But this is a "tactical pen" which means it was designed for defense and emergencies, so if a weak strobe makes you feel better then it's there for you. I checked both sets of batteries and they both function. Since the LED is not that strong I'd expect the light would last a fair while, possibly a couple years or more, if only used for short periods of time when needed. The glass breaker tip is alleged to be carbide. I don't have a way to check this but I'll just assume it's accurate. The housing around the carbide tip looks like steel and is heavy for it's size. The tip itself is very sharp...you could easily use it as an etching tool on metal or glass. It screws out of the aluminum housing and on the flip side is the multi-tool. The multi-tool really is a gimmik. I could see using the screwdriver tip, but how many screw heads are slotted anymore? They are usually either philips or torque and this would do you no good on those. The bottle opener I'm sure is functional (I haven't tried because again I bought these as a gift and didn't want the paint coating to get compromised), but how often would you actualy use it. The saw blade is completely cosmetic and non-functional and I would not recommend even trying to use it. If you did try to cut something with it the friction would most likely heat the blade up and cause it to bend, or worse, snap in half. The pen writes suprisingly smooth and even. I was hopeful this would be the case and wasn't dissapointed. I did not spend a lot of time writing on different materials or at different angles, but the ink flowed well and didn't smudge. It's nice that refills are included, and I believe they are of a common size that if wanted you could purchase other replacements which are higher end. The aluminum housing feel sturdy and strong. The pieces screw together snugly and have just the right amount of heft to let you know you have something solid in your hand without being fatiguing. The flashlight end doubles as the cap for the pen, which is a nice design in case you need to remove the light to get into small places (it's about 1/2' longer then a AA battery when detached). However, when using the pen you'll need to hold onto the flashlight/cap because it does not attach to the other end. I feel this was a pretty major design flaw as it could very easily be screwed onto the other end (over the glass breaker), however they made the diameters different so they don't match up and there doesn't appear to be any logical reason for this. Rubber o-rings provide a waterproof seal for all pieces the screw/unscrew. The machined aluminum housing is well constructed and feels secure in your hand. The texture would allow for a firm grib even with wet or slick hands. Overall this is pretty long...too long to fit in most pant pockets and definately too long for a shirt pocket. My plan is to attach these to the sides of the EDC bags for my boys so they have quick access to it if needed. Final Impression is I feel for $10 this was a good, functional product. Could it be better? Absolutely but for the money this is a good value for a multi-functional product that will be a solid compliment to an emergency kit, bugout bag, or EDC pack. However I would not want to pay more then I did. This does appear to be a knockoff of a product from a US company that sells for twice as much so make of that what you will (that company does state on their website they use Chinese manufactures to make their product to keep the costs low, and part of the agreements they sign is to give up their intellectual properity to China, knowing full well they will turn around and sell a similar, cheaper version...that's why you see so many rebranded options of the exact same product).

Between the pen, flashlight, glass breaker, bottle opener, screwdriver, and the hidden compartment (often used for a micro-SD card or emergency cash), this little tool covers a surprising number of bases. It's a nifty, handy gadget that solves problems you didn't even know you had until you needed them. It's the perfect size for a front pants pocket, a jacket pocket, or a bag organizer. It doesn't feel bulky, and the pocket clip is strong enough to hold it securely. ***If you are looking for a tactical pen that doesn't compromise on quality, this is the one.
