Great for our needs
We bought this dehumidifier and it has been wonderful! We have a lot of sliding glass doors in our house and they let in a lot of humidity from outside, so we bought this to help, and it's amazing. Set it on Auto and let it work its magic! There's a definite difference between outside and inside now, and I no longer feel a constant need to wash my face when I'm sitting around at home. ~30lbs is a bit bulky to lug up and down the stairs (we only ordered one to see how we like it), but it's do-able and the handle is convenient. A bit rattly while running, but I put a felt circle sticker underneath it and that solved the problem instantly. My only wish is that we had ordered two! Our mailing address is an FPO, and I think it must have been too expensive to mail because they no longer ship to FPO addresses and we can't buy another now. Sad discovery. The tank is not huge, but the machine is a workhorse. If we leave it on low and empty it right before we go to bed, we have a full tank in about 8 hours. (Average humidity outside here is 67%). The more we leave it running, the longer it takes to fill, which is nice. "High" is a bit loud to sleep in the same room with, but "low" is like a two-for-one deal with a white noise machine. Drowns out the road noise, crickets, etc, so our dogs sleep more peacefully too. The drainage hose worked great, we had it drain into the shower overnight. But the tube that came with it was challenging to pull out the next day so that we could move it around the house, I'd recommend getting a screw-on hose if it's something you're going to be connecting/disconnecting often. And for those of you with littles, it does have a child-lock feature so they aren't pushing all the buttons every time they toddle by. Enjoy!

Effective Dehumidifier with Convenient Wi-Fi Features
I shopped around for both new and used dehumidifiers and ultimately chose this one. The deciding factor for me was the Wi-Fi capability—since so many devices today come with an app, I figured, why not a dehumidifier? I’ve been using it for a while now, and it has already pulled two tankfuls of water from the air. There's been a noticeable drop in humidity; our gauge now shows levels consistently around 45-50%, compared to 55-60% before. So far, this unit is performing as expected and living up to its intended purpose. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the market for a dehumidifier. Hope this helps... Update 7/3: After using the unit for a few days, it became noticeably noisier than it initially was. While it still functioned properly, the noise level—even on the "Low" setting—was excessive and disruptive. Ultimately, we decided to return the item due to the noise it generated. The unit wasn't particularly quiet when we first received it, and we may explore quieter alternatives in the future if they are available.

Worked Great Until it Quit Removing Moisture from the Air
The Shinco 3000 Sq.Ft. Dehumidifier that we purchased on December 9th, 2020 worked great until it stopped removing moisture from the air in our house on November 17th, 2021. I didn't even last an entire year ! The fan in the unit is still working, but it will NOT collect any water. I did a lot of research into the best Dehumidifier for the best price, and I thought I picked a good one. Either I got a lemon from the start or these units are only designed to last a short time before you have to replace them ? I've cleaned the filter regularly, so I don't believe that would have been an issue. The unit did remove right at 115 gallons of water in the 11 months that it was in use, as I measured how much water the unit collected every day. I am quite disappointed in the longevity of the Shinco 3000, as I was hoping for at least 5 years or more of service from this Dehumidifier. Just thought I would pass this information along to any potential buyers - so they can better evaluate their purchase decision.

MAKE SURE DRAIN CAP IN BACK IS TIGHT. Performed ok overall but ultimately went with larger model
I bought this 50 pint unit to help keep humidity down in a 900 sq ft apartment on the California coast during the rainy season. Overall I was happy with the functionality and features but ultimately decided to get the larger 70 pint unit since this one struggled to keep my apartment at 50% humidity. It ran almost non stop on high for several days before I ordered the larger model. When I received the new Shinco 70 pint unit I noticed it had a filter sealed in plastic and tape on the water tank. When I checked the back of the Shinco 50 pint unit I was surprised to see no filter since there was no filter in the box it came in. There was also no tape on the water tank when I opened it. It appeared to be factory sealed with the same shipping straps as the 70 pint unit, I can only assume it was a factory refurbished/returned unit. Also, BOTH UNITS CAME WITH THE BACK DRAIN CAPS LOOSE. I noticed a wet spot on my carpet under the rear drain cap of the 50 pint unit and found the cap needed to be tightened. I checked the drain cap on the new 70 pint unit and it was also loose. I'm glad I ordered the larger 70 pint replacement that appears to be new and has no problems keeping humidity down in my apartment.
