Loriva Roasted Peanut Oil, 12.7 oz

This was my first purchase of roasted peanut oil, which I acquired to experiment with some new recipes. There are not many choices available and I chose this one for its purity and natural processing. It has a fine, strong flavor. I've used it so far in a peanut butter cookie recipe and in stir-fries. The extra peanut flavor and tender crumb it gave to the cookies was noticeable. If you like peanut-flavored Asian dishes, I would recommend this, especially for stir-fries because it can handle high heat. I am now interested in experimenting with some of the other Loriva oils.

I buy peanut butter that has nothing but peanuts and salt in it. The oil separates and I stir it back into the peanut butter but sometimes when I get to the bottom of the jar the peanut butter is thick and pasty. So I bought Loriva Peanut Oil to add to the thick peanut butter at the bottom of the jar. Tastes great. I have tried several other types of oil from Loriva and they were always fresh and flavorful.

This oil is the best for Asian cooking - pan fried noodles are downright heavenly cooked in this. It's also good for other types of food where the flavor of the oil is likely to be detectable and the kitchen smalls wonderful when I cook with it. Made from roasted peanuts, it is more akin to roasted sesame oil in flavor rather than the standard peanut oil you see in markets that is fairly flavorless. My local market used to carry this but stopped stocking it a couple of years ago and the closest product I'd found was one made by Hain that was not nearly as rich or flavorful. I was pleased to find it at such a good price, my market was charging close to $10 per bottle and the last time I ordered this from Amazon I had to buy a case of 6 bottles to get a good price and free shipping. Not a problem as I was able to share some with friends and use it all before it went rancid but it's nice to know that now I can just order a couple of bottles at a time if I wish.

I've been using Loriva Roasted Peanut Oil for several years and absolutely love it. It has a beautiful peanut odor and flavor, unlike some brands. I cook all of my Asian dishes with this oil, and have also started using it for Caribbean cuisine. I can't always find it locally so I was very happy to be able to order through Amazon -- I think the price was about the same.

I was so happy to find this product on line. I love the flavor of this toasted peanut oil which is very hard to find and I use it in many recipes. It makes my pancakes and waffles taste like peanut butter pancakes and waffles. And, it makes the absolute best popcorn - No need for butter or additives. Each bottle was individually wrapped, intact, and arrived very quickly. Thank you, and I will definitely purchase this product from this vendor again.

When I opened the bottle, the oil smelled of roasted peanuts. I was hoping for an oil that would impart a roasted peanut flavor to stir fries, noodles, etc. Unfortunately, I could not TASTE the roasted peanut flavor when cooking with it. Perhaps if you use it as a finishing oil you might get the flavor, but I could not detect it when using it in cooking. It is quite expensive, so I will use instead a toasted sesame oil which has a great deal of flavor when used as a finishing oil.

We found something cheaper with equal flavor.

I don't use this product often but recently when I ran out it was almost impossible to find, thanks to Amazon I have it again. It is a great product which I usually use when cooking oriental cuisine. A bottle of this can last me 6+ months and although I do not keep it refrigerated it never gets a rancid taste always tastes fresh. Thanks again, Amazon.
