Works as described and seat doesn't loosen. Also easy to install.

We were replacing toilet seats every year or so, because they would break near the hinges from people moving around on the seat. I don't remember how I stumbled on these a few years ago, but they've been a godsend. What a simple, great invention! No more loose, distracting seating. No more broken hinges. As such, I think it's safe and accurate to say these not only benefit your pocketbook, but also your health. When we are sitting on the toilet, we need to be able to concentrate on the task at hand and not be distracted by loose toilet seats. For what they are, these are pretty expensive at five dollars a set. But for the idea itself, and how easy it is to install, and how well it does the job, the dollar trade-off is worth it. Also, taking into consideration the money saved by not having to replace broken toilet seats or hinges anymore, one comes to the realization that there are some things in life you just can't put a dollar value on. 2025 01 16 UPDATE: 10 years after buying and installing this product, I can report that we never had to change the seat or the hinges until just now. And, the only reason we even have to change the seat now, is because the paint has worn off parts of the seat, exposing the wood and giving it a fairly undesirable look. Nothing is broken. The hinges are like new. I have removed the bumpers and will be re-installing them on the new toilet seat. We are VERY happy with these simple but very clever little devices!

These are a little bit touchy to install properly, but once in place, they are very effective. There is no doubt in my mind that when a toilet seat can move from side to side, it will, and over time that movement will loosen the seat's connection to the toilet. When it loosens, it will allow more movement, and so on, until finally it is so loose that it's unsafe, and you wind up replacing the whole seat. These little bumpers very effectively prevent the seat from sliding from side to side, and thereby prevent undue stress and strain on the connection to the toilet. There could be some better instructions and "templates" provided to place them properly, but otherwise, they are very good.

The item works as advertized. I used them on two of my toilets, both equipped with "aftermarket" solid wood toilet seats. To be honest, whilst the installation did not challenge me, I read instructions, look at the item carefully and decide the correct way to fit it, myself. I did not use the elastic bands but I used two sided tape to stick them where I wanted them to be, used a steel pick to punch holes through the provided holes and the two sided tape. Took out my power drill with the wood bit best suited for the job, put a depth stop on it and drilled the holes. Had to use a converter app to convert inches to millimeters. After drilling the holes I removed the two sided tape from the items, cleaned them with alcohol and put some epoxy resin on them. Then I screwed them into the holes I made in the toilet seat. After that I let it rest for 24 hours. Now it is absolutely rock solid! The item is great, no doubt about that, but installation might need some thought.

only been a week but the seat has not become loose again yet

I ordered this product because the add said 2 sets. I paid a higher price for this order because I was expecting to receive 2 sets. the package only contained 1 set. 2 plastic angles, 2 rubber bands and 3 screws (there should have been 4 screws) 2 screws for each angle. The packaged arrived and on the reverse side over manufactures bar code was another sticker new bar code and number and said 2 sets. I called the manufacture Compac Industries, Inc. and they said 1 set is for one toilet seat 2 angles, 4 screws and 2 rubber bands, is 1 set so 2 sets would be 4 angles, 4 rubber bands, and 8 screws.. Not only did this add is misleading, it is over priced and missing parts. The add is misleading and possibly fraudulent. You can order 2 sets from the manufacturer, shipping, tax and all can be shipped for between $11 and $12 dollars depending on your location. 1 set not including shipping,handling and taxes, is around $3.99. Purchasing from manufacture is a much better deal for the money. especially if you purchase 2 or more sets. I like the product it is the same one purchasing from the manufacturer. There are a few person s selling this product on Amazon. The best value for the money is to not purchase this product from Amazon but the manufacturer Compac, Industries, Inc. I rated it 1 star because I liked the product,even with 1 screw missing and only received 1 set. Sincerely not stupid.

Works good but difficult to install

This product does what it says. I read the reviews and decided to order it and just got my husband to install it recently. We have a water saver toilet with a plastic seat and lid. My son sits on the lid to put his socks on when he gets dressed after taking his shower and ends up loosening the whole seat from sitting on it. We’ve had to replace the plastic bolts holding the seat/lid in place once already. Over time, one bolt broke because of constant slipping (you’d tighten it up and he’d loosen it up again putting his socks on). It’s quite annoying to have the toilet seat slip when you sit down. These did the trick and are a hidden gem. These really would be ideal to install when you have kids, for elderly people for safety, or you have a son that insists on sitting on the lid to put his socks on. The seat/lid no longer slips and sits in place as it should. Installation was easy. The product does what it says it does and I would definitely recommend it. You’ll wonder how you lived without it.

Very easy to install, in fact took less than two minutes, feel safe, no more slipping toilet seat. Amazing!

My corner cabinet, which held wine glasses for years, was suddenly emptied and transformed into a display cabinet. Too dark! I'm now diaabled with multiple sclerosis, and easy things are often not now not easy, but often impossible. I didn't relish the idea of wiring lighting because I have little strength and now only some use of one hand, so I looked for a lazy way out - battery operated lights. Looked and looked, but none was suitable and, anyway, I'm a bit of a scrounge when it comes to batteries needing to be replaced. So, with misgivings, I looked for the mains alternative, and saw these. Now then, it took me less than a morning to install these lights, which look really good - I thought they would be too bright, but not so. Just right, and whether they consume 5 watts or 20, the effect is really good. Yes, a wow effect - and if I can set them up with little energy and one hand, then anyone can. I just need some self adhesive brown stickers now to coved the white wire, and it will be brilliant. A great purchase at a good price!

These are working well. It's important to recognise that they are only suitable for wooden toilet seats as they need to be screwed into the bottom of the seat. The proposed system for locating them with the provided elastic bands did not inspire confidence. I used double sided gel tape with a tiny piece to locate the stabilisers on the toilet rim and full coverage on their top surfaces. Thus when I lowered the seat onto the stabilisers, they clung in the correct positions on the seat so I could drill and screw them into position.

Some toilet bowls are not flat on the top, but curved. It doesn't matter how tight you make the seat, it will slide all over the place. I installed mine on the inside of the seat so they are not visible. Using the bumper as a guide they took less than 5 min to install. I had been looking for these before but they were always out of stock. Why aren't these sold everywhere? Problem solved!
