Where is this saw made?

Unfortunately I found out after buying it that the saw is made in china, the blade is made in the USA. Still a very nice saw, works great in my electrical job.

Apparently, the saw frame is made in China (go figure). The blades are made in the USA. It's still a very good saw. The best Ive ever owned.

does this saw cut through metal?...example patio umbrella pole

Yes with a fine-tooth blade, you can use a course blade carefully but with a thin cross-section like the an umbrella pole, a fine pitch blade is better choice (18 pitch course compared to a 24 pitch blade)

Anyone buy the improved metal version? If so, is it all metal? I hate cheap plastic.

It is all metal with some rubber over molding. It is very well made in my opinion especially for the price. Not flimsy like the cheap hacksaws.
