Are these basically the same as the smile face one?

The smile Big Daddy is all scrubber material. This one has a scrubber side and a sponge side. I prefer this one, as I can use the sponge side to clean in small spaces, as in my grandson's bottle parts and small teether toys.

Can I use on my stainless steel stove top? How about in my oven?

I am not sure of your stainless steel stove top. I would check with the Scrub Daddy company. Yes, works great in the oven!
