One Wish (Thunder Point, 7) Review: These just keep getting better and better! - Robyn Carr has been my favorite author of all time for many, many years now. Whenever I see that she has a new book coming out, I automatically hit the 'buy' botton on her pre-sale, without a second thought. I always know right from the start...that I will not be disappointed no matter what. I was one of those that was very sad to see the 'Virgin River Series' coming to an end. When she started this series, I knew it would be good, but I had to wonder if it could ever measure up to her 'Virgin River Series'. I can honestly say, now, that this series is just as great as 'Virgin River' was. Her characters are always so real, the dialogue between her characters is so realistic, and the way she discribes all the people, places, and the town happenings...it just makes you feel like you're there watching it all unfold before your very own eyes. She has a way of making you feel all the emotions her characters are going through, at any given moment, too. Whether those emotions happen to be happy, sad, guilty, indecisiveness, the joy of falling head over heels in love, or whether it's just the joy of being in the presence of good friends and family. There's not one character in her books who are perfect. Everyone has had their own own set of problems to get through. Some might have had it a little rougher than others, but with time and patience they DO manage to get through them, with the help of friends and family. I have always loved her books, all of them...not just these two series. But with both of these two series, it always feels like I'm visiting old friends. The conflicts are emotional, but very heartwarming at the same time. And her stories alway, always ends on a high note with a HEA. In this book we have Grace and Troy, who start out as friends, but become much more to each other over the coming months. The scene at the beach on their first outing together, had me laughing hysterically for at least ten minutes or more. And the thing with the taser? Hilarious! I felt that this couple just seem to meld together so effortlessly. Sure they had their ups and downs, but they worked through them, together with time, patience, understanding, and a lot of forgiveness..It'll be interesting to see what takes place in the next book. Will Mikhail stick around permanately? How will Grace handle taking care of her mother when time starts runningout? Will Grace hire Mamie & Ross back to help her run her mother's estate? It'll be interesting to see, I'm sure. It was nice to go back and see our friends again, like Al & RayAnne, Cooper & Sara, Scott & Peyton, Seth & Iris, and of course Rawley & Carrie. We also got to meet a few new interesting characters like: Milahail, Grace's mother, Winifred, and Mamie and Ross. I hope to see more of these characters in the future. Review: Deveraux's Edilean series book #7 - I enjoyed this as fun, easy to read book. Though not a real page-turner, it kept my interest from beginning to end. No blood and guts, no vulgar language just a nice story. Though I have read all the Edilean series, this book can be enjoyed as a single read. I would recommend the entire Edilean series about the founding and growth of a small town near Williamsburg, Virginia. All are easy reads about different residents of the town.

loved it...good story
I loved it. This story is about a poor little rich girl. But not like you might think. She did come from a very wealthy family but almost from birth she was destined to be an Olympic gold metal champion skater. Her mother made sure of it. She had the talent and the mother pushed to make her that champion. No matter that she lost her childhood and all that that entailed. Finally, after winning a gold she walks away from it all and opens up a florist shop under just part of her name so that no one will know who she is. At a party she meets the hero of this story. He is a high school teacher, a very good one devoted to his job and his love of extreme sports. They meet and slowly come together. He has a bit more experience with life. She was very sheltered, kept away from anything that would distract her from skating, including boys. So at 28, she is still an innocent and just learning her way around the opposite sex. However, she does have a small crush on the teacher. This is about their story. There is a very strange relationship with her mother that has a lot of issues to overcome and forgiveness to be granted. This was a very good story. I enjoyed every word. I also enjoyed hearing how some of the towns people were doing. I have read their stories in other books, so it was like catching up. I love these stories and highly recommend them. There are some sexy parts so be aware if that is a problem for you. They were not over the top, but it was more than just thinking about it... Really good read.

Can Thunder Point allow Grace Dillon to heal?
When Grace Dillon moves to Thunder Point it is because she has purchased the little flower shop on main street. She has bought it from Iris, whose mother had owned the store until she died. Grace has learned her flower technique from friends in Portland where she mentored for a couple of years. It doesn’t surprise Iris that Grace paid cash, why we don’t know. There should have been questions, but there weren’t. Iris didn’t even think to ask about Grace’s past. There is a secret that Grace has, but no one is going to break down that wall she has built and find out the secret. Iris and Grace become best friends. Iris had a problem, it was a high school teacher named Troy Headley who didn’t seem to get it that Iris wasn’t romantically interested in him. She just wanted to be friends. But when Iris finally married her childhood crush, Seth, Troy got the message. He knew Grace because she was Iris’s best friend in town. But he didn’t know Grace. He took a chance and asked her out, hoping for a friendship, what he got was a bunch more. Troy has no secrets. He has no major past. He has no baggage. But little Gracie seems to and he wonders what it is. The story is wonderful and well written. Can Troy earn Gracie’s trust and thus get to learn her secrets? Can they both find true love? Can they overcome obstacles that they don’t even see when they start to date? Those are all the questions that must be answered. I love the Thunder Point series and getting to know all the people who live there. Robyn Carr does a great job of helping you to fall in love with the place. Who knew there could be so much romance and hidden secrets in such a small town. Enjoy!

Robyn Carr writes light romance set firmly in small American communities. She ties all the stories in her series together but manages a new love story for each volume. Although the pattern is the same and nicely familiar she manages to make each book different enough to keep me reading. What I particularly like is that, although we almost always get our happy ever after, the author avoids a lot of the cloying sentimentality that pops up in too many similar books by other authors. In this novel (the seventh set in the coastal working-class town of Thunder Bay) Grace is the local florist but she has a past as an Olympic skating sensation whose career has ended badly which she keeps secret from the inhabitants of the town. Troy is a teacher at the local High School who was a boyfriend of Grace's friend before she connected with another character. Troy starts the book as a friend of Grace's wanting only to help her have fun and Grace begins by not looking for a long term commitment and certainly not from someone who may be on the rebound from her friend. You can work the rest of the story out for yourself - this is romance writing after all. The story is coherent and fun. The author includes sub-plots using other characters from previous books which add texture and make the town come more alive to the reader (as well as setting up the plot for future novels in the series). If you like a well told light romance set in a small community this is definitely well above the average - nothing new or startling but excellent told with a touch of enlivening wit.

One Wish: Robyn Carr Hiding the past from everyone Grace is enjoying her peaceful life as a florist in ThunderPoint. She is a former celebrity; an Olympian skater quit that life in the peak of her career and find her way of living as a common woman .But this made her relationship with mother in a rough state. Troy a school teacher is her boyfriend and they understood .Once he find who Grace is what happens to them? Its not the best one of Robyn Carr and there are a lot of unnecessary characters that made me distracted from the novel. And there is nothing new thread apart from ice skating in this novel. Again want to say there is not much detail about that too..

Not going to read any more of her books, good writing spoilt by too many graphic sex scenes. So disappointing!
