I told back into pouch and machine wash. Take out to dry. Looks like new. **Q: does the brim have a resilient wire in it?** A: Yes. A "wire" is probably not a good description because wires have a round cross section. The spring steel that is woven into the fabric is about 2 mm tall, 0.5 mm thick at its cross section. How "springy" the steel is varies. The smaller the diameter the stronger the resistance to bring folded. So much so that usually a shake of the hands is enough for the hat to spring open. **Q: Is this hat washable?** A: Because of the wire at the brim of the hat, I don't think it's machine washable. The wire would get mishapen or rusty or maybe poke through the fabric. I personally just hand washed mine in the sink when I wanted to clean it. The material is cotton so is definitely washable. **Q: Are the hats reversible?** A: You can reverse the hat, but the draw strings would be on the outside. This is the best hat I’ve ever had. They are wonderful hats being very light and well-fitting. These hats cannot be blown off by a wind because they have a toggle fastener on the chin strap that holds them tight. They give protection to your face ears and neck. And they fold up small and flat in a little case so that they can be kept in a purse or glove compartment of a car. I’ve had several of these hats for years but they have disappeared. I’ve looked in many stores but nobody carries them any more. Thank you for having these hats available. I would buy more if you had some made of printed fabric. The widebrim kept the sun off my face and neck. It's very simple to unfold and refold in and out if it's pouch and it comes in handy when traveling. The only downside was there was no way of keeping it on my head if the slightest breeze blew my way. It does have a thin cord going from left to right of the hat but it doesn't have a clasp or clip to keep it snug under your chin. Either way I still recommend this adorable hat because of how compact it is and it looks great.
