I own this bed , and the slats keep tipping off whenever we sit on the bed. How to solve this problem ?

I had this problem too. I had to stuff pieces of wood in between the ends of the slats and some of the slats were just plain too short, so I tried stuffing some foil in there. I found that this bed took a lot of reinforcing. I basically rebuilt it after two months.

How loud/squeaky is this bed? Is it sturdy?

Not very sturdy. Would not recommend purchasing, had it for less than two years and was almost falling apart. The drawers can not hold things without the bottoms falling out.

Does this storage bed require a box spring

No Box Spring required.......the mattress can be put directly onto the wooden slates provided. This is the way I set up my boys bed. No problems at all and works great.
