Yes this book is about the 1911;however, this book is a must read for every serious gun enthusiast. The history surrounding the era and development of the 1911 is fascinating as told by Mr Sweeney as is its use in the pre and post world wars. Once I picked it up and started to read, I could not put it down. Coffee table size book with fascinating and wonderful color photos. Well worth the price!
