Crosman P1377BR American Classic Variable-Pump .177-Caliber Pellet Air Pistol, Brown

I was very skeptical on purchasing this gun. About 5 guys told me it was well worth the money, and was very accurate.So I took a 50 dollar coin and flipped it. I guess I lost but won a gun. So what now?I tried many different pellets through this gun. All of them shot fairly well. Then I found someStraton pellets. If i did my part, I was able to shoot 5 pellets into a half to 3/4 inch at 40 yards.It is THAT accurate with the straton pellets. I tried other pellets, but accuracy was not near asgood. At 20 yards I could put 5 pellets in a 2 inch circle. In order to achieve this kind of accuracy,I had to use my porch rail and a pillow on top of it to hold the gun steady.I am totally impressed with this gun. I pump 6 times for 20 yards and 10 times for 40 yards.Pros. . .1. Very accurate with the correct pellet. fairly accurate with most pellets. What I mean by fairly accurateis a 5 shot group in 1 inch circle at 10 yards/meters. This will satisfy most people.2. It is easy to pump. Was not to hard to pump for me.3. I like the weight. . .It is heavy enough to hold steady but light enough to not fatigue your arms.4. Pellets load in easy. The chamber is exposed, so the pellets are very easy to place in the chamber.You may have to work just a little when you close the bolt. Why? because the head of the pellet willsometimes get caught on the screw that holds the barrel on the gun. I left the head up with theskirt of the pellet. If you try to jam the pellet in the gun with the bolt (which you can), you maydamage the pellet. This will make the accuracy of the gun poorer, because the pellet has been damaged.5. Rear sight is adjustable fairly nice. Though I do not like the windage adjustment, because I thinkit is a little "funky" and cheap, the elevation adjustment was really nice.6. Rear sight has both v and peep sight. That was nice.Cons. . .1. The rear sight is funky. the windage is very poor adjustment. You actually twsit the sight left orright for the windage adjustment. I was not impressed by that. With that said, I had actuallyvery little windage adjustment. It was factory true.2. Elevation control. Out of the box, I was hitting about 6 inches high at 10 yards. I could not movethe sight down far enough to bring my pellets closer to the Bullseye. I ended up taking a pop canand cutting my own sight out of the thin metal and using it for a sight. Then I was able to bring thePoint of impact down to about 1 inch above the Bullseye at 10 yards. This satisfied me.3. Plastic grip seems to be a little loose. NOT much, but just a little . It is not a deal breaker.4. Trigger is not the best, but what can you expect from a cheap gun? It is a lot better than a lotof other Pellet guns out there on the market.Overall. . .For a gun like this, I am totally impressed. I feel that if I did my part,and I had all my T's crossed andI's dotted, I could possibly MOA with this gun with the right pellet. The Stratons were absolutelyamazing through this pistol. 25 yards gave me (at one time) 3 pellets almost in the exact same hole.Other pellets gave me groups that I was very happy with too. Imagine a 3/4 inch CTC (or less)at 10 yards with most pellets I tried.The power is there for you. The accuracy, is there for you. The reliability is there for you.You do your part, it will do its part.For 50 dollars, really, how can one lose?It is Amazing for me and well worth the money.It is hands down, one of the best shooting guns I haveever had for the money. You can spend 3 times themoney, but you probably will not get the accuracy thispistol has.

Great little pellet pistol. Plenty of power and accuracy for hunting. Just be sure to oil the hinges on the break action so you don’t tear a bicep trying to pump it.

I like this pump pellet pistol. When I was a kid I had a Benjamin pump rifle. At the time I didn't realize it's value. The Crosman pump pistol is fun to shoot. It's accurate enough for me to hit a soft drink can at 35 feet - a lot of the time. I miss at that distance, too, but I got the gun to help me with my trigger pull and to help me overcome any tendency to flinch or over anticipate while shooting.My only disappointment was I hoped the bolt would have been brass. After I got the gun out of the box and saw it wasn't brass I went back and looked at my order and saw this model doesn't have the brass bolt. I didn't want to spend extra time waiting for a return / exchange so I just kept it as is. If it's important to you to have a brass bolt - be careful to notice that when you order.I like this pellet pistol. The sights were set accurately straight out of the box. I can hit the targets if I do my part. I generally shoot after 3 pumps. That's accurate enough and I don't care if I don't get penetration of the bean can targets. A tin can isn't a bear.I got this for practice sessions, for bullet cost effectiveness while practicing, for teaching my granddaughter to shoot, for enjoyment during family gatherings and for being able to shoot quietly and not disturb my neighbor's horses.I like this pellet pistol. Maybe I already said that. It works good for all the reasons I bought it.It's a little less convenient to pump before every shot, but pumping also gives the shooter time to reflect on whether he did a good job with his trigger work and the other things which are relevant to hitting the target.The gun feels like reasonable quality for the cost. It's a little long and unbalanced, but after shooting a can of pellets My muscles adjusted to all that.The sights are black and get hard to see in low light and against a black target. It would be easy enough to put some white fingernail polish on the sights like I did to some of my more serious handguns. Once in a while the gun sounds like there was a weak pump even though I'm certain I pump the same number of times. My other brand of pistol does the same thing. Maybe it's just my ears? Maybe not. That little quirk is not a threat to life - it's a little pellet pistol.Now i know what to ask for Christmas gifts - a new can of pellets. Cheap for them - good for me. ((-:Buy it again - sure - why not.

The item is pretty quiet, on par with other BB/pellet guns. I expected it to be as flimsy as the rifle version, but the pistol seems to be made to a higher quality. I got it for pest control, and for that it’s worth every penny.

This is exactly what I wanted in a pellet gun. It is sturdy, seems well made, is very easy to use and accurate. I had a similar one when I was young that was made of wood and metal and really this one is more pleasant to use. The pump and handle are plastic but it is dense and doesn't feel flimsy at all.I bought this to scare away a huge cat that comes into my yard and attacks my cats. I don't want to puncture the skin but I do want to send a message (old West style!) That's why this variable pump pistol was the perfect option. I just took it out of the box for my initial test and it works wonderfully. I hit a beer can every time at about 12 yards. The sights were right on. I wanted to see how many pumps would be the right velocity to sting but not do any real damage. 3 pumps went all the way through the can. (too much for my purposes). 2 pumps seemed just about right if you're not too close. (it punctured the can but didn't go all the way through the other side). 1 pump was enough to knock the can over from 12 yard but didn't enter the can. It was slow enough that you could see the pellet bounce off.This is a good gun. Price seems very reasonable. I'm sure it will last for years and years. It's Justice time!

I had such a critter problem, along with squirrels and decided to purchase this particular pump gun. I was pissed off at all the varmints, so I pumped it up 10x, took shots at various targets and it was more powerful, louder, and more accurate than a 22 gal pistol. After firing it at a few targets, just around my house and farm, all the squirrels and critters had vanished within 3-4 acres sight? Mind you also, these targets were at least 100-200 ft away! Larry

Lots of chatter here about whether this is "good" for getting rid of raccoons, and personal opinions about the ethics of lethal vs. non-lethal animal control. This review is for people in the latter camp.YES! IT IS A PERFECT NON-LETHAL WEAPON FOR VARMINT CONTROL!! I had a darling, sweet, monster of a raccoon breaking and entering this summer, with my bi-curious cat acting as accomplice. After I solved the mystery of the Catskills Cat Burglar, I did a lot of research on non-lethal force to discourage raccoons from hanging around domestic spaces. The findings of my evidence-based case study:1. The variable pump action is the ideal weapon to help you calibrate the amount of force you need to use for the size of the critter and the distance you need to cover.2. Start low and build.2a. At a distance of 10' I used 2 pumps for the first shot, which got the raccoon's attention, but probably like a bee sting. He felt it, but not enough to scare him off.2b. At the same distance, I used 3 pumps on the second and third shots. He ran away the second time, but re-emerged a while later, so I shot him a third time.2c. By the third shot, he recognized the sound of the pump action, and started to scurry away as soon as I started pumping. I shot him, anyway, just to make the point.3. I used the Crosman Premier LHP77 .177-Caliber Hollow Point Pellets (500-Count).4. I am certain that this level of force will not break skin, but it will cause an abrasion similar to a rug burn. I know this because the cat, who may have been trying to protect her interspecies boyfriend, actually took a pellet when she ran into the line of fire. When she was hit, she jumped straight up and looked in the direction of fire, but she did not howl or show an obvious sign of pain. Since it was dark out, I was not entirely sure if she was actually hit or had just heard the soft pop of the gun, until she crawled into bed later and I could feel the abrasion on her rump. I inspected under light and could see that there was no blood, but an abrasion that healed within a couple of days.5. If you do use this gun to discourage without serious wounding, then you must not hit the animal in the face or paws! You also do not want to draw blood! A wound that draws blood can become infected easily, especially for nocturnal scavengers.6. Aim for the hind quarters toward the spine, which is the least likely to do accidental damage to organs or paws.6a. As long as you don't have a bear, wolverine, or dog coming at you, you're the predator and you should wait until the pest gets close enough for you to take an accurate shot. If you shoot with fear, you are more likely to make a bad shot and cause unintentional harm to the wildlife, or possibly your property.The raccoon has not been back since--no more pet door locks mysteriously removed, no more dirty water bowls that were used as finger bowls, no more curiously ajar window screens. I feel really good about this solution, which taught this wild animal not to scavenge so close to our house.

Gun has been working fine. The rear site adjust screw got loose and when tried to tighten it stripped out in the barrel. Though it doesn’t cause a functional issue, it is a workmanship issue.
