Better than Ball Head for handling heavy Cameras as an extension of Tripod altitude control..
I have a P1000 Nikon coolpix camera that I use for some astronomical imaging. On my tripod, the altitude adjustment handle bottoms out before the camera points high enough in some cases. A ball head is really risky with a heavy camera or big tele lens. The z-mount is a handy alternative. It has the added advantage of also helping with low angle shots and the fact that it only changes the one axis is also a plus in such cases. This mount has nice locking knobs rather than requiring a hex key (too much awkwardness) that still provides a lot of hold torque. Finally, the price is really affordable and the z-plate attached directly to an arca quick-change bottom. Recommended

Works well!
I'm using this device with a Nikon F2 film camera with 105mm Macro Lens. The tilt works well, the locking knobs are a tad small, but it really doesn't interfere with locking the tilt. So, Like I said I'm using this device with and old film camera and combined with the lens it weighs a good bit and I didn't experience any sliping or wobbling. The only real issue I've experienced is with the screw the attaches to the camera base. It has a very small flip out handle that too small to get a good hold of with (in my case) your thumb and index finger. Not a big deal, I used a pair of small pliers, but a small rod that's about 1/8" in diameter what work and that's what I will put in camera bag. Why not finger tighten and then turn the camera on the mounting base, the base isn't that soft and it could booger up the camera. Any way for the money this little gizmo works fine.

Just like the expensive version
This little rig fit my tripod perfectly. I have a quick rel3ase tripod but the mount unscrews. This has two threaded holes in it to fit different size bolts on tripods. My quick detach mount screwed on to the screw for the camera mount. Now I have a movable arm with a quick detach mount on it and it holds a relatively heavy camera at odd angles pretty securely.

Versatile and flexible but sturdy solution for 30-90 degree or even 180 degree layout photos
I hope to use it as soon as this weekend. Where I would utilize this is off of my mono-pod which does not have a 90 degree axis tilt. MY standard tripod does. When I need to take vertical shots especially for panoramas. I need to have quick use for 5 degree x 8 -10 frames of sweep across the horizon. I use a Canon EOS 80D DLSR camera and it would be a nice addition to use this way.

Falls short on engineering, design, manufacturing quality
I wanted to try this as a camera wedge adapter for DSLR and mirrorless ILC cameras. There are problems with design, engineering and manufacturing. The levers get in the way of use with a longer clamp, and the dovetail does not run free on both ends. The friction-based locking mechanism has very little contact surface. Materials used are sub-par. It is made of molded aluminum alloy, rather than CNC T6061 that we are used to for camera support, even from cheap Chinese manufacturers. There is too much play around bolts and threads. The threads on the main axis bolts looks like I don't know what, ragged and uneven. Proof is the amount of brass filings that can be found when unscrewing the lock lever - the bolt threads just eat through the brass when tightened.. The concept is interesting but this falls short for anything beyond a phone, if even that. I'll keep it for future modding.

Small and powerful
I love it. It’s smaller than I expected, but it’s a powerful little thing. I use it to give my table tripod a little more height so when I’m vlogging, my double-chin doesn’t come out so easily. I have my Canon M50 mounted on it.

First point, the Display shows it is a new model and lighter weight than old model. But, they keep sending old model. Too heavy to handle with camera. Why should they display that this is a new model while keep sending old model. Returned to replacement but, again they delivered old heavy model. Please 🙏 remove the new model picture from this listing.
