Moonbear tries to outwit his troublesome shadow in this charming reissue of a beloved classic by award-winning author and illustrator Frank Asch. One sunny day Bear decides to go fishing, but his shadow keeps scaring the fish away, time and time again. Bear tries everything he can think of to get rid of this pesky nuisance. And at last he succeedsโor so he thinks! This refreshed edition of a beloved classic features the original text and art with an updated cover. Review: Combines reading a fun story with science topics for kids!! - Great for teaching young & elementary students. This one introduces shadows & prompts discussions on problem solving. Love the Moonbear character & the clever stories that introduce science topics for kids. There are also other Moonbear books available. Review: Thanks, Frank Asch! - My two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter recently discovered her shadow and was a bit alarmed by the fact that it wouldn't go away. I went on the hunt for a book that would help her understand what shadows are and that we can live in peace with them. This book was just the ticket! I had bought her another book (different topic) at the same time, but this was the one she wanted to read first. Before sundown, she had read it four times, and she was proudly showing me that she had a shadow, too! Thanks, Frank Asch, for a great book!

Cute Kids Book, Also Educational
This is a cute story about a bear trying to lose his shadow. My three and five year olds really enjoy the story and illustrations and have learned how the position of the sun affects your shadow.

Cute and funny!
This was the first Moonbear book that I have purchased or read. I read it to my sons and they loved it. Moonbear is so funny and cute. We have bought a few more and they are now a family favorite. I am actually a little surprised I had never read them before but I am so glad we found Moonbear before my kiddos got any older. Great book and great series.
