Fantastic
I've tried a lot of different kinds of rice from all over the world, and this is my favorite brown rice hands down. I read a lot a reviews to find it, and I'm sure glad I did. It cooks easily, tastes delicious, and has very satisfying texture. There are a lot of different kinds of rice to choose from, from a lot of different world cuisines, and so it's worth considering that this rice is more suited to Japanese/ East Asian cuisine than perhaps to Indian or Indonesian cuisine. Nevertheless, this is my favorite as an all around rice. Totally worth the price.

good brown rice, medium rather than long grain, cooks more quickly
Surprisingly good rice. This is brown rice but it is also medium grain rather than long grain like basmati, so it has a more thick meaty texture. It's partially milled (?) so it cooks more quickly than usual for brown rice, but you also do have to soak it for 25 minutes or so. It's always tricky getting the exact proportions right, of water vs rice, so that it's not too dry but also not too goopy. Brown rice seems to need less water than white rice. The package for this suggests 10-20% more water than rice, i.e. for 10 parts of rice, add maybe 11 or 12 parts of water. That has worked OK, in an InstaPotty type pressure cooker, the 2 times we've bought this rice.

The Best Brown Rice On the Market
This rice cooks like white rice + 5 min. It tastes flavorful and has a soft texture, unlike standard brown rice. Since I discovered this brand rice, I prefer it over any other brand rice. I hope it is never acqired by another company and is retailed for my lifetime to enjoy.

Since you eat the outer layers of the grains,
wish it has organic version. Taste good, though.

Good Stuff!!!
I originally bought this because it was the only brown rice I could find available on Amazon. Boy, was I surprised. It is brown rice and it cooks much quicker than most, as it has been partially milled. And I like it. If it is still available I will continue to buy it. When it arrived, I saw that nearly all of the writing on the package was in Japanese, and I did not know just what I'd gotten. I like it better than the run-of-the-mill brown rice that I usually buy in the supermarket. Serendipity in action!

Best rice I've ever eaten
I love "sticky rice," but my husband insists we eat brown rice, since it has more nutrition. This is the first time I've ever seen brown sticky rice, and I could make a meal off just the rice and butter! Super good taste and texture!

Disappointed...
I have been eating Koshihikari rice for an entire life and was happy to find California made Koshihikairi Brown Rice at reasonable price. I like the concept(10% milled of Brown rice so quicker to cook and yet retain the nutrition) but I could not stand the taste. It tastes as if something is wrong(has a little moldy after taste). The package had a sticker saying "new crop". Really?? Hope they can explain the reason that cause such taste.

Great stapl
Very good product! Easy to cook especially if you use a rice cooker or Instapot. Use it for side dish, stir fry, rice pudding, etc.
