Fast 800 Recipe Book

Measurements are in grams and imperial measurements for the UK and EU but overall this is a very helpful book for those interested in cleaner eating, portion control and doing the Fast 800. There’s helpful information about the Fast 800 diet in practice and the 5:2 diet. The back part has meal planning information and good advice on cutting down on starches and snacks. There’s a good variety of recipes and lots of color photos. The Fast 800 is not an easy diet to stick to daily, so mastering a handful of go to recipes is really key to succeeding.

This Fast 800 Recipe Book by Dr. Claire Bailey and Justine Pattison (foreword by Dr. Michael Mosley) features a mix of varied recipes to include: courgette crabmeat and avocado salad, pan fried pork with apple and leek, smashed avocado on toast, roasted red pepper hummus, minty citrus salad, speedy pizza, roasted vegetable pizza with mozzarella, seared peaches with yoghurt and pistachios, strawberry and vanilla yoghurt and more.

So far I’ve made probably a half a dozen recipes from this book and they all are delicious. Even my meat and potatoes husband likes them. They’re fast and easy. I’ve had to weigh ingredients and convert from celcius to ferenheit, but I have a scale for baking and can look up the temp conversion, so that’s no biggie. I’m looking forward to trying more of the recipes.

Just bought the book & went through it quickly .Excited to try out the recipes & expecting good results.Would have been wonderful if there were some testimonies of success results, as this would have been great encouragement. This is basically my last practical resort for attempting to reverse diabetes, Nafld,fibromyalgia , cholesterol & HBP. Tried it all now from no carbs to keto to calorie restriction800(besides starvation💁🏻‍♀️)Love the fact that I can finally measure without googling to convert unit measurements. Yay!!!

I watched the Lose a stone in 14 days on YouTube and so ordered the cookbook. I am in the US and honestly all the reviews that complained about the UK measurements were an incentive for me. Weighing food is the only way to measure it. A half a cup could have different weights. For heaven sake just get a scale - they weigh in ounces and grams. I am more disappointed in the recipes that call for “ one medium courgette”- how many grams or ounces is that? I’ll add to my review once I make some of the recipes.

If you have read the 800 Fast Diet, you need to add this book to your reading. The recipes are easy to prepare, using real food. The food tastes amazing, and it makes the transition to a new way of eating a lot easier. I have lost 30 pounds and feel great.

I am enjoying the recipes and the diet however the shakes on the web sight are not sold in the US so instead I use Atkins shake or slim fast keto shake as my dinner replacement meal at night . 2 1/2 lbs down in 3 days

I didn't realize when I ordered this book it is written for a UK audience and the measurements in the ingredients list is different than how Americans measure to cook. It is mostly by weight as opposed to cup, tablespoon etc. I will have to do all the conversions prior to trying any recipes.If there was a version for the US market I would have bought that instead had I known this.
