I have it in the main line where the cable used to come in. It goes to a splitter in my house that feeds all the TVs in the house. Very clear picture to all. **Q: Did anyone use an amplifier to help with reception? If so, what kind or type did you buy?** A: The amplifier usually doesn't help reception. What it does is boost the available signal from the antenna to the receiving TV/outlets. I have a splitter with 8 drops from the indoor antenna (NOT this one...mine is an older DB2 model but it is likely it would work the same...providing a signal to many distant rooms) to the rooms in a 3000+ sq ft house. The antenna (in 2nd floor bedroom) is about 20 ft from the splitter input port (basement). From the splitter the lines go as far as 50'or more. The amplified signal provides rooms the over 30 channels (counting sub/side channels) that we get. Our house is on relatively high land with pretty good view of the broadcast towers. Works very well. Love it. Nice compact size and no complaints. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really good indoor antenna but not great. *by T***E on March 23, 2024* This indoor antenna works pretty good and has VHF diapoles unlike flat antennas. This was important as some channels in my area are still located in the VHF bandwidth even though they are digital. Most have moved to UHF but one of those channels is ABC that is still on VHF frequencies. I needed an antenna that could do both UHF and VHF so a flat antenna wasn't an option. This antenna does a good but not great job. It can pick up about 70 channels of the 85+ channels when high and facing the right direction. This isn't great as the broadcast antennas farms aren't super far away from me. The big issue is it is directional and we have 2 antenna farms in different places. So it is hard to get it to pick up both properly. For the price, it works as expected, but I'm sure there are better options out there at a more premium price. I am satisfied but will remove one star for the difficulty of setting it up to get all channels. Also, some of the channels have weak signal with this antenna even though they are coming from the same farm as others that have strong signals.
