Java Demystified

Really breaks down the Java programing that one wishes to learn to build their interactive website. I like the fact that it has the walk throughs to help you really understand how to program in Java. I really recommend this book for anyone trying to learn Java or taking a Java class as a supplement to the class. It will truly help you along the way.

This book has a wide range of information for the people taking any classes in a Java Programming design. I am taking a class through University of Phoenix and have found that this book is a wonderful tool in learning how to make this programming class works.

I've recently started to learn programming in the past few years so I've gone through a number of programming books. As far as beginner books go, this is probably the best I've found. It's very clear and concise and gives tons of simple examples you can code just to get the practice working with different data elements and structures. It won't turn you into an expert programmer by any means but if you work all the way though it then you won't be completely lost when you start trying to learn more in depth programming. If you already understand programming in another language and want to learn Java now this might be too simple for you, but if you're new to programming and want to get a firm knowledge of the basics, I highly recommend this book.

This is my third Demystified book and I haven't been disappointed at all. All are an easy read and full of just the code you need to get programming quickly. I knew nothing about Java nor programming before reading this. Now I can program in Java. Don't be mislead. It is not an end all book. But it has just the right blend of Java to make you productive right away by building useful applications.

It's a good book to learn java programing for beginners who wants to start in java development. This book provide a basic understend about this technology.

I picked this book up after I got dumped in the deep end, needing to modify Java code in some NIST image processing software. The good - I could follow the examples readily - I'm 100 pages in in a couple of hours, and I'm readily learning the specifics of Java structure that I need to start modifying code. The bad - it looks like the book was mechanically spell-checked, but not grammar-checked. There are a lot of sentences, in and out of the code examples, where I just had to shake my head. One example was flat out wrong - on page 92, where the it says that an index is a number from zero to "1 minus the maximum number of elements in the array". This will give you a non-positive number. Not a world ender, but catching so many of these on a first skimming pass makes me a bit leery of how good the rest of the examples will be.

It seems to cover everything you need to become productive right away. The tech jargon is kept to a minimum. Everything is explained for you. You can follow along with examples using your computer. I simply copy the examples and then change them to the specs the Prof wants for homework. Worth the dollars.

Recently I was in a Java class. We had 60 students and the professor had no time to stop and answer questions. My friends and I were lost and few places to turn. One of my friends stubled across this book. What a great fine. It answered all the questions the professor didn't answer.
