2008 five CD box. The Original Album Classics series, courtesy of Sony/BMG, packages together five classic albums from one of the most popular artists on the label's roster, housing them in an attractive slipcase. This set from the guitar hero features the albums Not of This Earth (1986), Flying in a Blue Dream (1987), Extremist (1992), Joe Satriani (1995) and Crystal Planet (1998). Review: Outstanding package - I like all kinds of music, mostly Jazz fusion, but am trying to expand & get some great music I missed, as well as getting into Blues. This 5 cd package is a great place to start with Joe Satriani or replace LP's. They are cds in cardboard liners, but you get some great music. With some of his other material as 2 cds for 1, you can get a lot of material. I got as much as possible. This set plus "Time Machine" a 2 cd set started me out nicely. Good, high energy guitar. He has his lovers & critics , but you have to admit he can play. Sony & other companies are releasing a lot of older cds as multi- packs. Get them while you can. I thought it was worth every dollar.
