unique product for stiffer hair
been using this a few years now.... Ive got thick, very hard to style hair... gels paste it down too much and look odd, cremes and mousse dont seem to provide enough hold without using tons of product and overpoweringly smelling up the place... most 'pastes' are closer to cremes than they infer and dont do the job.. pros: -'whatever' paste is firm but doesn't dry / mat hair down awkwardly... -it's great for short to medium hairstyles and gives a nice textured look - it doesn't clog your pores thus promoting hair loss.. - its applied best to slightly damp hair and gives a non glossy finish where people arent quite sure you are using product - even in large amounts it has a unique, nice, but not overpowering scent Ive used a million pastes and this is the only one Ive ever had that was reliable for results and look regardless of how long ago I got my hair cut... great product -------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I saw a lot of criticism of this product on the internet for hair loss and thought I should comment. I've been using it at least 4.5 years and have had zero hair loss. Also, there aren't a lot of pastes that work well with guys that have wiry / hair that needs a very firm hold, and this product does that, so I don't like the idea of throwing it away on a web rumor. I think it highly unlikely that this paste is actually causing loss through an ingredient.... maybe a few people have a wild allergy that kills follicles with a mystery ingredient on the list, but with modern cosmetics testing.... that's very unlikely That said, I would point out two things as this is somewhat of a unique product: it is, without a doubt, the heaviest paste hair product I have ever seen... very very thick, literally almost like clay... as such, that means: First, it can cause hair loss that is due to pilot error and is not the fault of the product..... such a thick paste will clog hair follicles, start tiny bacterial infections and acne that kills follicles easily causing permanent loss... it's been clinically proven about a million times... so it is a really bad idea to use it as an all over paste to do slick backs / coat the entire length of your hair because you are then letting it get all the way down to your scalp... it sits on your scalp and over time that will cause a monster problem Second, using such a thick product on the wrong hair type will create the illusion of thinning hair.... this product is really for use on very thick hair to do things like spiking, texturizing the outside of your doo, etc. If you are using it on hair that is not VERY thick, it basically pastes the hair together, reduces volume and suddenly makes it really easy to see down to your scalp... making it look like you lost 1/3 of your hair overnight So, my suggestions? - if you have blond or red hair or brown / black hair that is not very substantial, this probably is waaaaay too thick a product - if you see complete hairs with a white follicle on the end coming out.... that's a solid rocket booster emergency and you need to talk to your Doc... follicle comes out ... it's a permanent loss.... - while genetics play a huge role... an equally huge issue is keeping your scalp clean... I'm allergic to many things, so I've gotta take a lot of showers, I wash my hair with shampoo (like wal mart / equate generic head n shoulders) that leaves my scalp squeaky clean at least once a day, usually twice... I'm 50ish (fxcking sigh) and have the roughly same thickness and hairline I had at 20 - ideally figure out hairstyles where products never touch your scalp.... it can he hard to do, but it's worth it... I'm not saying my system is perfect, and YMMV, but it's worked great for me for 30 years.... gl to all

Why would anyone buy something else
This AXE paste is terrific. Good hold, smells nice, and doesn't leave residue in your hair like gel/other products (and truth be told, you don't need much of it to get the job done). One jar will last for quite a while and really take care of all your hair styling needs (let alone three jars). The price is also very competitive (better than anything I have seen in stores. One reviewer mentioned that this product was THICK and that it needs to scraped out (which in her words was "manly"). Just to set the record straight....while the product is fairly dense, it is not difficult to work with (the heat of your finger/hand will actually cause the product to soften considerably). Also....as a man I don't identify scraping actions as masculine.... I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to style there hair for less, but not compromise on the way their hair will look.

Easy Textured Style Without The Crunch
I grabbed this AXE flexible hair paste 2 pack to have a simple everyday styling option and it has worked really well for me. The texture is creamy, not sticky, so it is easy to work through my hair without clumps. A small amount gives a nice messy, textured look that still feels touchable instead of hard or crunchy like gel. I like that I can restyle it during the day with my hands if I need to without adding more product. The hold is a solid medium in my experience. It keeps my hair in place for most of the day while still looking natural, especially with shorter to medium length styles. The scent is that typical AXE fresh, slightly cologne type smell, noticeable at first but not overpowering once it is in. It also washes out easily in the shower, so there is no heavy buildup. The 2 count pack is convenient and saves a bit of money compared to buying one at a time.

Favorite hair product
I donโt like my hair being stiff. I sweat a lot at work and canโt have gel running down my face into my eyes. If you put it in your hair while itโs wet or damp it spreads out easier, but you wont be able to style it until your hair drys. And itโs easy to not realize and put too much when itโs wet. I try to put it in when my hair is barely damp This wax keeps your hair soft while being able to restyle it throughout the day. Even if I sweat a lot or get my hair wet when it drys Iโm able to fix it up like new.

Works great and thankfully does not reek like a jabroni.
I forget things a lot when I travel, most often toiletries. Trips to the nearest drugstore near my hotel are not unusual. More often than not the local drug store does not have the brand that I normally use at home. So you try something new, for good or for bad. I was in need of some sort of of matte styling paste/cream this Axe product was the only thing on the shelves that fit the description. I was definitely suspicious , I opened the lid expecting to be blasted by the scent of backwards baseball hats and puka shell necklaces, thankfully the scent was innocuous. Turns out the axe paste works as good or better than the old product I used and costs half as much.

I used to use this to get a really good raised, messy look
It has a strong hold and makes my thin hair look a bit thicker. I use it either free-hand or with a comb to slick my hair, varying the fineness of the slick by adding varying amount of water. When my hair was thicker (5 years or so ago), I used to use this to get a really good raised, messy look. About it being bad for the hair. I've heard that it strips oils and the exterior of the hair shaft. I suspect that's bunk, but there might be something to it if the ingredients have been shown to do that. I think my hair has thinned naturally and not by this product. I haven't really looked into whether the ingredients do this, though. For those with oily, acne-prone skin, it's a bit of a must to wash this out at the end of the day. Your pillow will get sticky and you'll develop zits on the forehead. (Just a warning, there.) I just wash it off at the end of the day with some shampoo. I think it might even come out with just water (if washed thoroughly), but I use shampoo to make sure. Lastly, if you leave it without the top on, the top layer (maybe, 3 mm or so) will oxidize fairly quickly (maybe in about 8 hours--a day at school or work). This does change the quality of the product, in that it has to be heated up with the palms more (pre-use) and worked in more. I think the oxidation might increase the hold, though. Your mileage might vary with that, though. I wouldn't intentionally leave it with the cap off. Also, if you leave the cap off for too long (maybe over a weekend) the oxidation will penetrate deeper and even all the way to the bottom.

Pomade should have been made like this when I was in middle school...
Because in Middle School, I had to use La Bella hair gel which was $5 a tub, and it was the best thing out of all the other hair products during the 90's, even though I would never be caught using hair gel ever again. If Axe goes out of business one day or discontinues "Whatever Messy Look" paste, I'll leave my hair all natural. I don't use much. I'll probably dab a couple of times, and spread it in my palm and finger-tips, then push through my hair. It's wonderful. It allows me to keep my natural hair look so my hair doesn't look like it got in a fight with a can of hair spray, or a bucket of grease. I highly recommend it to men who want a light or strong hold and to be able to sculpt your hair any way you want without looking like you put hair gel on. I just found this 3-pack on Amazon and I will be buying more in the upcoming weeks just to stock up.

Works great on my hair.
Makes my hair easy to style. I wet my hair a little bit before using. It has a nice smell to it. I have no complaints about it at all and I will keep using it and buying it.
