MANGROOMER Ultimate Pro Back Shaver with 2 Shock Absorber Flex Heads, Black and Red, 1 Count

Where was this thing about 25 years ago?!?! I received my MANGrooomer Ultimate Pro in 2 days (even in the midst of snow storm) as expected and it was packaged very well. I opened the package and read the instructions from end to end before attempting to use it. They state to let the unit charge for 18 to 24 hours before use so that's what I did. About 18.5 hours later I got comfortable with the way the unit adjusted/operated and started in. Now I should say that I was one of the first of my friends growing up to get body/facial hair. Sadly it doesn't seem to have ever stopped! I'm now 45 and while I haven't ever let my hairy presentation deter me from doing what I wanted (beach, pool, etc.), I've always been very uncomfortable with my appearance. And while my hair wasn't the thick, brillo-pad style I've seen on some unfortunate guys out there, it was more than what I ever wanted on my body. I went the Nair route once and let's just say I only went that way once for a reason!! Nasty stuff!! One of the issues I faced is that there really wasn't a place to "stop shaving" if I had someone shave my back which meant shaving my "front" and arms too. Who wants to bother someone with that all of the time? So I fire up the MANGroomer for its maiden voyage and I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical after seeing some of the negative reviews. I thought for sure I was going to end up one of those guys with the "hair type" that the MANGroomer wouldn't cut through or whatever. The instructions say to make slow passes to prevent pulling the hair out. So I make a couple of slow passes on my upper back/shoulder area and ... holy crap ... the hair's gone! And no pain! No redness! No smell! So I continue...I was able to do my whole back thanks to the way the MANGroomer is designed. Because the human-wool on my back was rather thick, I opted for the trimmer blade versus the close-cut/razor blade. It removed the hair so short you could barely see it. You could feel the stubble if you ran a hand across my back, but really not bad at all. Because there was no good stopping point as I mentioned earlier, I continued to do the rest of my body. One of the other concerns I had was whether or not I'd be able to use this everywhere or if I'd have to buy yet another groomer for the rest of my body. I was able to maneuver the MANGroomer so as to get everything trimmed up - arms, legs, torso, etc. It left a little more on my chest than everywhere else but that hair seems thicker than the rest. It was still very close... I was able to do my entire body without recharging and the motor didn't seem to be slowing down. Still, before I used it again I thought it best to plug it in and charge it up. After charging the unit for 2-3 hours and allowing me and my body to adjust to it's new-found environment, I swapped heads on the MANGroomer and tried out the closer-shaving head on my back. It's a little tougher to use than the trimmer only because of the angle you have to hold the MANGroomer at to get the head to sit flat. But just the same, it worked pretty well. I'll use a regular razor for the areas I can reach and save the MANGroomer for the back areas I can't reach. I cannot tell you how great I feel! This was long overdue. What made me finally decide to go forward with this is a recent vacation where I was the only guy at the pool/beach who wasn't man-scaped. Evidently, gone are the days where guys who shave their bodies are not the norm. I feel so much better about myself and cannot wait until the next vacation or pool party so I can show-off my new self! Another perk, the muscle tone that was lurking beneath the forest of man-fur is now on display for all to see. Good days ahead!

It works great! Takes care of the long hair and the attachment to shave it clean.

The big trimming head doesn't seem to work very well for me, I think my body hair is just too thick for the cutter slots. The smaller head with the foil works well and shaves close but I think the trimmers on the side do most if the work, there's rarely much hair in the foil head. I recommend using the foil/trimmer combo head only on "turbo" mode, as the side trimmers can get uncomfortable in normal mode unless you move very slowly. The turbo mode does just fine. Overall, far from perfect but as close to perfect as I've found. I refuse to use a blade or anything that might draw blood, whether on my face or body, and this shaver gets the job done. Takes a while and I need to use it quite often because I'm basically a Silverback gorilla and my hair grows -FAST- so I imagine I'll be buying these things more regularly than most, hopefully they keep iterating and making it better and one day it'll be a perfect solution. Maybe sell a separate big head with slots that are a bit wider, for those of us with extremely thick hair? As-is I almost never use the big head, it just doesn't do much for me, but if it easily accepted super thick gorilla hair than it would make my back grooming SOOOOOO much faster and simpler. I'm getting older and as such I don't care so much for a super close back shave anymore, if ever I did I'd just let it grow out for a few days to a week* and go back to waxing because "I have a gal for that," it's just super uncomfortable to sleep on a back with an enormous patch of broom-head bristles growing out of it. Just removing the majority is fine *seriously my hair grows like physics-defying fast, I feel like I could watch it grow if I had a few hours to spare. Forget "5 o'clock shadow;" I have a "noon shadow," a "tomorrow morning beard," and a "next week giant tight & stiff-bristle brush on my back"

I used to use Nair For Men to deal with unwanted body hair, and while that stuff works, it's very messy and smells awful. Plus, it's difficult to smear that stuff on my back without missing a few places I can't quite reach. This Mangroomer shaver is great! No more gooey, smelly mess. It's very simple to use and only takes a couple of minutes. It works very well. I like the adjustable handle. I can easily reach all areas of my back. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely!

Just for the record, I have owned two of the older styled units, of which I have used for several years - but of course, they are all very cheaply made in China, so their lifespan isn't all that great. Up until now, they actually did a reasonably decent job. My problem(s) with this specific unit... 1.) First problem...The unit was running (as in - turned on) in the package when it was delivered. The packaging sort of exposes the on/off button - which apparently was able to be pressed somehow in the delivery process. It was vibrating on my front door step when I got it...Try to imagine what the delivery driver was thinking...sort of funny, I guess. 2.) There are a few different buttons (aside from the on/off button)...There's one to press to extend the handle, there's one to press that adjusts the angle, and there seams to be a small one on the blade head - which should allow you to clear any obstructions or jambs on the blade...NONE of those buttons worked, they all were either jammed (cheap plastic on plastic), or they just didn't function as intended. Every time that I tried to make either adjustment on the angle or extension, it felt like the plastic handle was going to snap or strip the plastic gear inside. 3.) The function of the blade...For the first 30 or 40 seconds, the unit seemed to be working okay, as expected. Within less than a minute, it was ripping at my hair and nicking my skin like a little piranha. After carefully examining the head, and trying to remove the cover to see if it was jammed or clogged, the cover would not remove without risk of breaking it. As I was stating earlier, the release button would not depress at all. there was no visible issue on the blade itself, but at that point I repackaged everything, and returned the unit. There was an option to get a replacement, but the overall quality was way worse than the previous two units that I had owned...and this one was sold as "the new improved model"...No thanks, i try another brand I guess. If nothing else, I'll probably rig a quality trimmer to the end of a broomstick handle, or just make something more custom myself. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation...try a different product, maybe the old style. I'd strongly recommend avoiding this one.

This Ultimate Pro Back Shaver is excellent for shaving everything neck down. I've used other electric clippers, razors, creams etc. but this tool is absolutely easy and pain free to navigate and leaves a very smooth comfortable result "everywhere". Other methods usually leave irritated skin and sometimes burning small minor cuts on the private areas and I was a little nervous this would do the same. But with slow careful attention I was able to complete "the process" in very little time and with very little effort. The new tool was charged and ready within 16 hours. Using the groomer blade I was able to quickly shave my entire back, chest, legs, arms, and private areas. I had always found small stinging cuts under my armpits and private areas before I used this product. When the soap hits those tender spots it really stings for awhile. But with this Mangroomer Ultimate Pro Back Shaver those stings are a thing of the past! I'm very excited to finally find a versatile tool to help my body look younger for me, and my wife. After 43 years together we are still enjoying that soft touch. Now I don't have to have her help me with my back. She can just enjoy the final results ; ) Me too. This tool literally reaches every area and some you wouldn't even think of now. I didn't need to do the fine touches using the foil blade yet. The first pass is so excellent. I will try maintenance with the foil blade and see if things get even easier. We are completely satisfied. Easy to use, understand, manipulate. I also haven't had any need to use the power boost yet. Also, the cut action is very smooth and easy to keep controlled in a small work area. I had been using our closed glass shower with other methods and hair gets everywhere. With this tool I decided to stand in front of our three way mirror and the hair simply fell to the carpet in a very small area, rather than spray out like before in the shower. After I was done it was a much easier clean up with our vacuum. MUCH less time! Actually less than a minute to vac. I had actually planned to purchase another shaver for my private areas when I read some of the reviews that discouraged using this tool for the "entire body" neck down. But I decided to wait and try this tool everywhere and I'm sure glad I did! That alone saved me a good $80. This tool does it all. Just take it slow and steady, like the manual says. Have fun.

I purchased this product as a replacement for my Bakblade 3. figuring that an electric version will help me save on blade replacements. It was suggested to me by ChatGPT presumably based on content found on the web about it. The product arrived quicker than I had anticipated and the seller is reliable. As for the device itself, while it is functional (the long and extendible handle as well as the various angles possible), it is not outstanding and is definitely overpriced for that it is. I have used trimmers from reputable manufacturers that were much smoother, painless and more effective. The design is well-thought out ... but the shaving heads are not impressive - particularly the foil shaver. I think there are cheaper and better options on the market. Not sure I would recommend.

UPDATE I wanted to share the battery life. After using this about every other day (just for my back) with it on the Power Burst it lasted from Christmas to the beginning of February before I had to recharge it. This was great battery life!! I am hairy. So freaking hairy.... With this I am no longer!!! I have tried so many body groomers to shave my back, I use a razor for my upper arms, chest and stomach, but I can only reach the lower back with a razor. The upper back has been a problem. I have tried several other ones (like Phillips) and they just do not work for me. The heads often pop off when pulling up around the shoulder blade or I cannot reach parts and go against the grain (I look like I am doing Yoga in the shower). I got this as a Christmas present and after the first use I am amazed. The handle and head all lock, so no popping off when the shoulder blade gets between the head and the handle, I can get a smooth stroke all over those rough terrains. I use the head with the foil on it as that seemed to do the best job and left the back smooth! The wide head makes it a quick job and the handle expands to any length so I can get really low and all the way to my neck. I use it with power boost on every time and I can shave my back in under 3 minutes! After I am done you cannot see any hair, it is smooth! In the past other shavers have left a tiny bit of hair that is noticeable when you have black hair and white skin... This gets it all and does it quicker and easier than any other shaver. It is not waterproof so I shave in the shower (with no water) and than put it away and than shower off and shave the rest with a razor. The unit's head is easy to clean and I can just rinse it under some water in the sink and it folds to a small size that I can easily put in the medicine cabinet. I am so happy with this and wish I had received this sooner, it is has made shaving much quicker and gives a better result. This is a must for anyone shaving their back!!

I just want to start by saying that I originally mistook this for a full body trimmer and was disappointed when it wouldn't trim my chest hair. That said, it was completely my fault for not reading the ad more carefully. So with that said, it works perfectly for its intended use as a back shaver. I've used it several times now and have yet to charge it besides the initial charge. I was reluctant to review it too soon add I wanted to be sure of its quality for the price and the fact that it's only a back trimmer and not a full body trimmer. It's very well made and trims the back hair rather effortlessly with no tugging of the hair or scratching of my skin. I'll be happy to purchase a separate body groomer and may even check out the same manufacturer. Battery life and overall quality is better than the "big name" trimmer that I previously owned.

This is a great back shaver once you get the hold of how to do it properly. 1 minor detail the charger is US plug so make sure you have an adaptor when buy it.
