Noise level is not too loud and it didn't frighten the cat.However, it does get stuck - under cupboards, it has gone under and then can't get out, on the upstairs of the house it gets stuck at the top of the stairs and then says it's on an uneven surface and then stops (at least it didn't fall down the stairs), and more than once it got 'lost' and then just sat there not finding it's way home to the charging dock.
