Parrish's Magic Line Round Cake Pan, 6 by 3-Inches Deep

I'm a novice baker and would probably have chosen non stick had my mom not told me that her cake pan is aluminum because they bake the best. After doing some research, I decided to go for this Parrish Magic Line pan, choosing the 6x3 size to make small cakes for my husband and myself. I love how sturdy this pan is. It did have a few scratches when it came, but that didn't bother me. I had read some reviews saying that these pans leave a grey residue on people's hands. I washed the pan as soon as I got it with warm soapy water and a soft sponge - there was a little grey residue then, but none thereafter. I have baked two cakes in it so far - both have cooked evenly and come out very well. As long as I lightly grease and flour the pan, the cake just falls out. It is slightly expensive, but worth it, since I'm sure these will be long lasting! I'm definitely getting another one of these to try my hands at layer and I highly recommend it!

Love this. Bought two of them for a presentation cake that I wanted to be taller than it was wide. Very sturdy aluminum construction, a bit thicker and heavier than my other pans. Makes my other pans look cheap in comparison. I like the smaller circumference, taller size for making a nice tall but not overly huge celebration cake. Cut the two rounds in half to make a four layer cake. Put parchment in the bottom and didn't oil the sides at all and after running a cupcake frosting knife around the edges, the cakes popped out perfectly. Very nice piece.

I picked this pan up with a pair of 8" pans at the same time. This size pan is very tricky to get the cooking time so that cakes don't burn or dry out. I'm still figuring out the timing. Not a failure of the pan, probably just a quirk of the 6" size. The pan itself is solid and heavy in a way that says your grandmother would have had this pan and would have handed it down through the generations. Using a flour spray allows for any items to release easily and makes cleanup super easy.

I bought these pans because full size, 2 layer cakes are too much for my wife and I to eat (actually, we could eat them but are trying to cut back). So I split the batter between 2 of these pans. I followed directions from Wilton's web site for how long and what temperature to cook. The recommended time was WAY off - by like 40 minutes. These took a long time to bake, but I'm assuming it's due to the nature of the type of cake. I kept testing the batter and adding time until the toothpick came out clean. The quality of the cake was excellent. It came out of the pans with no problem (I always use Baker's Joy and parchment on the bottom). We froze one cake and cut the other in half to make it a 2 layer mini cake. It was a great size, and I'm glad I bought the pans. I feel these are much higher quality than my Cuisinart or even Wilton pans. I would definitely purchase again and recommend to others.

This is by far the best cake pan I have purchased to date. It is nice and solid, and the cake bakes evenly. Update: 4 years later and this pan is still going strong. I have found it to be very easy to clean. The pan still looks brand new. It has a very even heat distribution. The size is perfect for 2 people wanting cake, or when you just don't want leftovers. I also like to use it when I only want to do 12 cupcakes. I just put the extra batter in here and it makes a perfect sized cake to freeze for later.

Bought this since I wanted a 6 by 3 pan, and bakers RAVE about choosing Magic Line over Fat Daddio's. The pan arrived scratched up on the bottom and felt...really light. Everyone always says this brand weighs heavier because of the good quality, but this pan felt thin. Washed it, dried it, and buttered the pan for a standard chocolate cake. The cake cooled and slid out okay. Some was lost to the pan lining, but not the worst. The weirdest part was cleaning the pan and seeing a weird dark ring stain on the inside that refuses to wash out. Not sure if this discoloration is standard. I usually use a USA Pan 9 by 2 inch, which remains the best to me, and that has never left an unwashable stain like that. Disappointing since this brand was supposedly the best.

This is a great product. I love homemade baked goods and I like to give them as gifts...and i like "easy." This little pan makes me look like I know what I'm doing. The cakes brown nicely and release easily with parchment lining the bottom. Easy to clean and I love the size. More substantial than a cupcake...enough for 3-4 people to have a good sized piece of cake.

Use this for the first time this weekend and I loved the very straight edges! These pans do not stack into each other which is a good thing. Very good quality product. I'll buy more in the future. Love this brand.
