Maybe it would flatten out if weighted down in a hot room. But after several months it still has "memory" of some of its folds/rolls and does not sit completely flat at the edges. It's very stiff. I also expected the colors to be a little brighter. They all look brownish (even the green). I was not expecting it to be as soft as it was for a $30 rug. I especially love the pattern and colors as it matches with the color scheme of my apartment. I had no issues with the rug not laying flat or being scrunched in the ends. I am a heavier set individual so I just stepped on the ends and the rug flattened out immediately. I purchased the 5x7 length so it may not be that easy for a bigger sized rug. I gave the rug a 4 stars because the only negative I found with it is that the rug moves around A LOT on my hard wood floor.
